@Couchcouchman @rohindhar There are whole neighborhoods of new builds in this area and closer to St George that are mostly STRs. There's a lot of demand because of the national parks nearby (Zion + North Rim of Grand Canyon). Driving distance from SLC and ~2hrs from Vegas airport.

@rohindhar The front and back of this house are such a contrast. Back looks great but the front looks like a prison, with none of the appealing elements that you often see on MCM houses (exposed beam overhangs, etc).

@eddiekimx People just automatically associate depravity on the street with threats to their own physical safety. That's wrong (walking through the TL is pretty safe), but I can understand why someone people from out of town might feel that way.

The tenderloin is obviously a terrible place that I avoid walking through at all costs, but I'm not worried for my own safety if I do. I used to be much more worried about getting mugged when I lived in DC than anywhere in SF.

@laurenbalik Do they monetize the adult content in any way? Seems like it would erode profit margin significantly if not. I guess X/Twitter is the same way though - lots of adult content just not in the algorithmic feeds.

@SMBTelecomGuy @rohindhar There are a decent number of second homes that are owned by non-wealthy (in terms of cash flow, not RE maybe) people, mostly ones which were purchased a long time ago and kept in family ownership. On the margin, vacancy tax might get some of these people to rent long term or sell

@thomashawk "Get an internship" - Internships are obviously valuable but it's turned into an arms race that rewards the wealthy and connected. To get into a top internship program as junior you now have to have done some cool internship as a freshman as well which is crazy (Generalization)

@shreyas Regarding usability, it's crazy how far you need to walk to the exit when flying into SFO T1. Much farther than the other terminals, and no moving walkways etc. I agree it's mostly delightful but arriving there is a slog.
