🌅 RISE & GRIND
YOUR COACH SHOULDN’T HAVE TO START YOUR ENGINE.
Practice starts at 3:00?
Be ready at 2:59.
Glove on.
Cleats tied.
Mind right.
Nobody should have to beg you to compete.
BRING YOUR OWN DAMN ENERGY.

HS Baseball Players ⚾️👇
Someone else’s commitment is NOT your rejection.
One thing I’ve learned through my years with @PrepBaseball:
Players emerge at different times.
Some commit early.
Some develop later.
Some need another summer.
Some simply haven’t found the right opportunity yet.
Celebrate your teammates.
Then put the phone down and get back to work.
Comparison will convince you that you’re behind.
You’re NOT behind.
You’re on YOUR timeline.
Keep developing.
Keep competing.
Keep putting yourself in position to be seen.
Your opportunity doesn’t disappear because someone else received theirs first. ⚾️
The best teams ...
💯 Win together
💯 Lose together
💯 Celebrate successes together
💯 Overcome challenges together
💯 Stay committed to one another

...but if hitters can bloop them for hits oppo side, why preach against them? In tennis, is every stroke 150 mph hits? No, they adjust, see where there opponent is weakest at the moment & hit bloopers over the net.
DeRosa, Casey or Reynolds need to analyze more "butt swings"...
You always see slo-mo vids of "perfect" swings, but never the "adjustment" swings: Butt swings, reaching, half speed swings....
Not perfect cookie cutter swings, but perfect adjustment, get a hit by any means swings.
Our one LL coach had a whole talk on NOT doing butt swings...
@tommycrum15@shegone03@nextlevelbb I used a thick, heavy wood broom handle and a roll of bat grip. You can get a small bucket of wiffle golf balls for 1/4 the price of a dozen of the “training” ones.
Also, have dad take a knee & “dart throw” popcorn kernels using same bat. 👍
🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️ Anyone remember these grips from their childhood? I found this in the back of dad’s shed, I used this in little league waaaayyy back when.
Dipped? Painted on? 🤷♂️🤷♂️ It’s a @sluggernation. And hard! 💪⚾️⚾️⚾️
A father said to his son:
“You graduated with honors. Here’s a Volkswagen Beetle I bought many years ago… It’s over 50 years old, but before I give it to you, take it to a downtown dealership and ask them how much they’ll offer you.
”The son went to the dealership, came back and said:
“They offered me $10,000 because it looks very worn out.”
The father replied:
“Now take it to a pawn shop.”
The son went to the pawn shop, returned and said:
“They only offered me $1,000 because they said it’s too old.”
Finally, the father told him to take the car to a classic car club.
The son did so, came back and said:
“People at the club offered me $100,000! They said it’s a very rare and highly sought-after car among the members.”
The father then said to his son:
“I wanted you to understand that the right place will value you the right way.
If they don’t appreciate you, don’t get angry... it simply means you’re not in the right place. Those who truly know your worth are the ones who truly value you.
Never stay somewhere that doesn’t recognize your value!”
"Coaches need to not only set the standard but BE THE STANDARD for their players. Coaches should be as mentally tough, poised, coachable, and encouraging as they want their players to be." -- Jamy Bechler
@UnpaidAnalyst67@BaseballDudes48 I have & follow them on Facebook. I'm pretty savvy with the app itself, I would take a class to get certified to teach it if they offered it. I've been scoring games for @20 years. Every season I do learn a new obscure scoring decision watching MLB/youth games. 👍to upgrades!!
@BaseballDudes48 Once you get to the 60/90 level, YES, it should be accurate. If you don't know the game after watching it for years before getting to the big field, you shouldn't be allowed to score the games.
At 60/90, it IS important to those who want to move to the next level.
@BaseballDudes48 Dick's next move is to offer GC certification either through them or train proctors to go out & teach classes to offer cert. I'd LOVE to teach this!
I've done GC for years, I'm not perfect, but know the person doing it doesn't know how to, even if I'm NOT at the game! ⚾️
