I’ll be very honest I have thought along these lines before. Companies are allowed to deduct expenses then are taxed on profit yet ordinary taxpayers are not.
Ordinary taxpayers also incur expenses when going to work.
In the current tax bands there is a 32.5% tax band on gross income which is more than the 30% company tax that is on PROFIT
No individual tax bill should exceed 25% tbh.
For some reason, I have never looked at these things & felt that I was missing out. I have my small joys that mean a lot to me. I recently discovered an eatery that grills marinated chicken necks. Sells them at 30 bob each. I cannot tell you the profound joy those necks bring me.
I pick almost 20 at a go. I Keep them in the fridge. And I can't wait to get home. Everytime To prep some ugali. And get to work. I didn't sleep at home yesterday because of some work commitments, and all I can think about even this morning,at 5 am, is what I will do when I finally get my hands on those grilled, juicy chicken necks. I'll probably sing a hymn. Like I did last time. Probably do a little dance.
That side of Nairobi may never get to experience the joy of a juicy, grilled chicken neck with a bowl of steaming ugali, and salad. When you are finally alone, without the cameras, and it just feels right. Complete. Alive.
the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it’s called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don’t care, but because you care too much.
Carilton David Maina, straight As from Maseno, had an engineering Scholarship at the University of Leeds, UK. He was killed by the police in 2018 and they tried to cover it up saying he was part of a criminal gang. Constable Charles Mwiti shot him as he was on his way home from watching a game!
Whole time Kenya Police are the criminal gang!
