@jeffr0 I think the real unlock is using Hermes (by @NousResearch ) so you can switch between local + cloud models, and automatically create skills based on your workflow. Skills + workflow = the moat, and with Hermes you own that. You can then switch to local models as they get better
@jeffr0 Local models are fun to play with - I'm using qwen3.5-9b on my M4 Pro / 24GB mac mini - but I don't think they are a replacement for cloud models yet. I'm hoping in 6-12 months we better OS models and Apple releases a Mac specifically for local llm (256G-1T unified memory)
Can you help me test something I'm working on? Go to my blog (https://t.co/SPmVrW8MsT) and click the "heart" on a few posts. Go to favorites, then sync your favorites. Then try accessing on a different device. Let me know if you hit any bugs or ideas for improvement.
@aaronware Yeah, I need to add some sort of messaging about "use this email on another device to sync your favorites". Not sure why the images are blocked by gmail, I'm paying Mailgun for delivery. Need to dig into that
@aaronware Great feedback. As of right now the email is only used to store your favorites, but we'll probably add an opt-in "subscribe to publisher's email list" in future, so I should figure out the messaging around that now.
@callebtc I've been using Hermes for about a week, really enjoying it. A few minutes ago I sent my Hermes agent to catch up on the full Lobster University curriculum.

Kurt Vonnegut on why you should leave the house to buy an envelope (and avoid online life in general):
“Then I’m going down the steps, and my wife calls up, ‘Where are you going?’ I say, ‘Well, I’m going to go buy an envelope.’ And she says, ‘You’re not a poor man. Why don’t you buy a thousand envelopes? They’ll deliver them, and you can put them in a closet.’ And I say, ‘Hush.’ So I go down the steps here, and I go out to this newsstand across the street where they sell magazines and lottery tickets and stationery. I have to get in line because there are people buying candy and all that sort of thing, and I talk to them. The woman behind the counter has a jewel between her eyes, and when it’s my turn, I ask her if there have been any big winners lately. I get my envelope and seal it up and go to the postal convenience center down the block at the corner of 47th Street and 2nd Avenue, where I’m secretly in love with the woman behind the counter. I keep absolutely poker-faced; I never let her know how I feel about her. One time I had my pocket picked in there and got to meet a cop and tell him about it. Anyway, I address the envelope to Carol in Woodstock. I stamp the envelope and mail it in a mailbox in front of the post office, and I go home. And I’ve had a hell of a good time. And I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don’t let anybody tell you any different.
Electronic communities build nothing. You wind up with nothing. We’re dancing animals. How beautiful it is to get up and go do something”
@JS_Zao@daljo628 When you create staging on @BigScoots they give you the option to "exclude uploads" which installs my plugin. Way less storage required and sets up staging faster
Introducing Markdown Maker, my entry for the Dream Feature Challenge over on @boltdotnew!
They asked us to build a featured we _wished_ our favorite product had, so I built a whole working #WordPress plugin (yes, really!) that we're now currently using on IRL client sites (yes, really!).
Check it out at https://t.co/8mwvwbyb1m or check the thread below for my favorite bits from the build... 🧵
I’ve used @kit since inception for various accounts - part of their affiliate program etc. I’ve recently had nonstop issues despite my 81% open rate and zero spam reports. This is the response I get when asking why my account was suspended? Wild. Ridiculous.
@heyamberhinds@Restreamio@optimum Our Optimum internet was so bad I had to work at the library for a week. We switched to Starlink a few months ago and its 100x better.
