Yet Another Miscarriage of Justice: Norway Extends Dr. Cho Ayaba’s Unjust Detention for Another 4 Weeks

Norwegian authorities have once again extended the detention of Dr. Cho Ayaba by an additional four weeks, further perpetuating this blatant miscarriage of justice. Since his arrest on September 24, 2024, Dr. Ayaba has been held without formal charges. With this latest extension, his detention will total exactly 6 months.

Under Norwegian law, particularly the Criminal Procedure Act of 1887, the prerequisites for arrest and detention are strictly regulated. Arrest and detention may normally occur only when there are reasonable grounds to suspect that an individual has committed an offense punishable by imprisonment for more than six months. Additionally, suspects detained pending trial must be brought before the court no later than three days after the initial arrest.

The continuous extensions of Dr. Ayaba's detention, absent formal charges and without timely judicial review, raise serious concerns about adherence to these legal standards. This pattern of prolonged detention without charge not only undermines the principles of justice but also appears to be a deliberate tactic to weaken the leadership of the Ambazonia Governing Council (AGovC). Such actions hinder any potential negotiations with Cameroon, as they effectively incapacitate AGovC's leadership.

How can Norway expect AGovC to engage in meaningful dialogue with Cameroon while its leader is unjustly detained without charge?

What message does this send about Norway's commitment to human rights and fair legal processes? The inconsistency between Norway's actions and its professed values is glaring.

This ongoing detention not only violates Dr. Ayaba's fundamental rights but also sets a concerning precedent for the treatment of political leaders and activists worldwide. Norway must reconcile its actions with its stated commitment to justice and human rights.

We demand the immediate release of Dr. Cho Ayaba. Norway cannot continue to preach human rights while violating them in practice. If Norway truly believes in justice, it must demonstrate this by ending this politically motivated detention and standing on the right side of history.

Cameroon’s Shame: A Nation Reduced to Bread and Sardines!

Dear world and Norwegian Authorities,
This is the reality of Paul Biya’s failed dictatorship where Cameroonians, after decades of misrule, are reduced to scrambling for bread and sardines thrown at them like scraps by the CPDM regime.

Look at them fighting over food at a CPDM political rally,** not because they believe in the party, but because poverty has stripped them of dignity, forcing them to trade their votes for survival. This is not democracy. This is exploitation.

For 42 years, Biya’s regime has turned Cameroon into a state where elections are not won by policies or vision, but by bribing the hungry with one thousand francs, party uniforms, and stale bread. This is the same regime that steals from its people, kills those who resist, and then throws crumbs at them when it needs their votes. What kind of government feeds off the desperation of its citizens?

This is why Ambazonia must fight for its freedom. We refuse to be reduced to beggars in a corrupt system where elections are a mockery, and governance is a tool for oppression. We refuse to be ruled by a dictator who has enslaved his people, stolen their wealth, and silenced dissent with bullets and bloodshed.

This is exactly why Dr. Cho Ayaba has dedicated his life to breaking Ambazonia free from this disgraceful system.He refuses to accept a future where Ambazonians are subjected to this same humiliation where their voices, rights, and very existence are trampled upon by a regime that thrives on their suffering. His fight is not just about independence; it is about dignity, self-reliance, and building a nation where no one will ever have to beg for food from their oppressors. While Cameroon thrives on corruption and suppression, Dr. Cho Ayaba fights for a future where Ambazonians can stand tall, free, and self-sufficient.

To those still believing in change within this rotten system, ask yourselves: If after 42 years, people are still fighting over bread at a political rally, what does that say about the future?

Dr. Cho Ayaba Called Out Norwegian Media’s Bias Before His Arrest!

On August 16, 2024, just before his unjust arrest by Norwegian authorities, Dr. Cho Ayaba sat down with Norway’s NRK TV for a background discussion on the Ambazonia-Cameroon conflict. But rather than focusing on the massacres, war crimes, systematic torture, and mass incarceration of Ambazonians by Cameroon’s authoritarian regime, NRK prioritized pushing their own propaganda for domestic consumption. This blatant disregard for the suffering of an entire people exposes the deep-rooted hypocrisy of Western media choosing to ignore state-backed atrocities while amplifying narratives that serve their own interests.

Why was NRK @NRKno more interested in shaping an internal narrative for Norway rather than amplifying the desperate cry for self-determination by millions of Ambazonians? Why is Norway so silent on Cameroon’s well-documented crimes against humanity, reported by respected organizations like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Norwegian Refugee Council, Oxford University researchers, and many others? Has the Norwegian government ever questioned Cameroon about these atrocities, or are they deliberately turning a blind eye to maintain lucrative political and economic ties?

While Norway signs multi-billion dollar deals with Cameroon, it is fully aware of the dictatorship’s systematic human rights violations the mass killings, enforced disappearances, and brutal repression of Ambazonians. Yet, instead of standing for justice, Norway arrests a freedom fighter whose only “crime” is advocating for his people’s right to self-determination. This raises serious questions: Does Norway truly stand for human rights, or do economic and political interests dictate its actions? Why is Cameroon rewarded with deals and international legitimacy while the voices of its victims are silenced?

Even more hypocritical is Norway’s claim of wanting to broker peace or a negotiated settlement between Ambazonia and Cameroon while keeping the Ambazonian leader in their custody. How can Norway claim to be an impartial mediator while actively suppressing one side’s leadership?

Dr. Cho Ayaba’s arrest only reinforces the reality that those who expose the truth about oppressive regimes are targeted. Norway must answer: Are they defenders of human rights, or are they complicit in Cameroon’s colonial oppression of Ambazonia?

Norway’s Hypocrisy: Talking Negotiations While Holding a Leader Captive

Norway sent a delegation to Cameroon, urging the Biya regime to sit down with the Ambazonia Governing Council (AGovC) for a negotiated settlement. They returned with a letter a so-called invitation from Cameroon to negotiate.**

But here’s the hypocrisy:
How does Norway expect AGovC to negotiate while it holds its leader captive?

How does Norway speak of peace while imprisoning the very man leading the fight for Ambazonia’s survival?

If Norway is serious about ending this war, it must start by answering these fundamental questions:

-Is this about real negotiations, or is Norway playing Cameroon’s game?

-How do you call for dialogue while suppressing the voice that must be at the table?

- Will Norway take leadership and publicly declare that it is organizing a negotiated settlement between Ambazonia and Cameroon?

AGovC is Ready for Negotiations, But on Clear Terms
The Ambazonia Governing Council (AGovC) has always been open to a negotiated settlement but let it be clear:

Any negotiation must include its leader, Dr. Cho Ayaba, and the process must be transparent, credible, and internationally recognized.
No backdoor deals. No hidden agendas. No political maneuvers.

We Won’t Accept Another Failed Process!
Cameroon has played this game before. We saw it with the Canadian Pre-Talks when Yaoundé lied to the world, denying involvement after it collapsed.

We saw it with the Swiss talks wasting three years before Switzerland finally admitted that Cameroon was never interested.
We refuse to be part of another deception!

If Norway is serious, then let it publicly declare its leadership in this process. Let the world hear that Norway is taking the lead to negotiate an end to this war not playing backdoor games while holding Ambazonia’s leader captive.

Negotiation under captivity is not negotiation it is coercion!
Release Dr. Cho Ayaba! Then we will talk!

Until then, Norway remains complicit in Cameroon’s crimes, aiding a genocidal regime while pretending to broker peace.**

Norway's rich history is adorned with figures who valiantly championed self-determination and resisted oppression. During World War II, as Nazi Germany occupied Norway, courageous individuals like **Max Manus** and **Gunnar Sønsteby** emerged as pivotal leaders in the Norwegian resistance movement. Their acts of sabotage and defiance were instrumental in undermining the occupiers' efforts, and they were celebrated as national heroes. Notably, these freedom fighters were supported by their compatriots and did not face arrest or persecution by Norwegian authorities for their actions.

In this tumultuous period, Norway's leadership, including **King Haakon VII** and the government, sought refuge in the United Kingdom.From their London exile, they orchestrated efforts to reclaim their homeland, with the **British government providing unwavering support and sanctuary**. This alliance was crucial in sustaining the morale and operational capacity of the Norwegian resistance.

Contrastingly, the recent arrest and prolonged detention of **Dr. Cho Ayaba**, a prominent Ambazonian activist, by Norwegian authorities, stands in stark contradiction to this legacy. Dr. Ayaba's unwavering advocacy for the rights and independence of the Ambazonian people mirrors the very principles that Norway's own heroes once championed. Yet, instead of offering support or at least a fair platform for his cause, he faces incarceration without formal charge a situation that undermines Norway's longstanding commitment to human rights and the protection of political activists.

This action not only tarnishes Norway's international reputation as a defender of freedom and justice but also raises critical questions about its current stance on human rights. **Where is the Council of Europe (CoE), the European Union (EU), and the international human rights community?** Why is Norway, a nation that prides itself on democracy and the rule of law, violating the fundamental human rights of Dr. Ayaba with impunity?

We call on these institutions to hold Norway accountable for this blatant miscarriage of justice. They must demand his immediate release or a transparent and fair trial. From Peace Broker to Oppressor’s Ally? Norway’s Troubling Role in Dr. Ayaba’s Detention

Why is Norway extending Dr. Cho Ayaba’s detention without justification? Who is Norway truly protecting—justice, human rights, or Cameroon's oppressive regime?

Kripos must answer why it is acting as an enforcer of Cameroon's political persecution instead of upholding due process and international law.

Since when does a democratic nation detain freedom fighters on behalf of tyrannical regimes?

Dr. Ayaba has committed no crime—his only "offense" is leading the fight against Cameroon's brutal occupation of Ambazonia. So why is Norway prolonging his detention? Is this about enforcing the law, or is it about serving geopolitical interests at the expense of an oppressed people? Yes we know these answers but we want the Noble Norway to answer us to the hearing of the world!
Are Norwegian authorities compromising their principles to appease Cameroon, a state notorious for war crimes, massacres, and the persecution of political dissidents? We have first hand witnesses reports and evidence of more 70.000 Ambazonia men, women and children killed, over 850 communities razed to the ground and millions displaced. Are these not justifiable reason for anyone to rise in defend of his people? What is Norway’s gain in all these? 49 Billion CFA trade deals and other multi million dollars projects endorsed with Cameroun.

This is a blatant abuse of process and a dangerous precedent. Human rights defenders, justice advocates, and the international community must demand answers from Norway.
How can a country that claims to uphold human rights be complicit in the persecution of a leader resisting tyranny? Where is the transparency? Where is the justice?

The world is watching. Norway cannot claim to be a champion of democracy while holding a freedom fighter at the behest of a regime guilty of genocide and systemic oppression. Silence is complicity. Justice must prevail.
