🚨 ESMO 2026 Cervical Cancer Guideline Update

Several practice-relevant changes worth noting:

🔹 Low-risk early disease: Simple hysterectomy + SLNB is now recommended for selected FIGO IA2–IB1 patients.
🔹 LACC: Cisplatin-based CCRT + image-guided brachytherapy remains the backbone.
🔹 Stage IIIA–IVA: Pembrolizumab + CCRT → maintenance pembrolizumab is recommended.
🔹 INTERLACE strategy: Weekly carboplatin–paclitaxel induction may be considered when modern RT/brachytherapy techniques are unavailable.
🔹 Metastatic disease: Treatment increasingly driven by PD-L1, prior immunotherapy and ADC options.

Cervical cancer management is rapidly moving toward less radical surgery early and more effective systemic intensification in advanced disease.

Update on COPERNICUS study from @BalazsHalmosMD at #WCLC26 shows impact of supportive care strategies from COCOON with 1L subcutaneous amivantamab + lazertinib for EGFR mt NSCLC.

Compared to published MARIPOSA results, rate paronychia was 35% from 50%, rash 25% from 55%, VTE 3% from 23%, IRR 3% from 55%. Discontinuation of amivantamab in the first year due to AESI was < 1% (vs 9% in MARIPOSA).
