The two spotted leafhopper (Jassid) is occurring at economic levels in some fields in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. This pest has the potential to be the greatest economic problem since the boll weevil. Many questions remain, only time will tell.
I've seen a lot of sunsets in cotton fields from SW GA to Central AL. Rode by this field for a week before I stopped in to snap this shot. Might be my favorite one yet.
Many cotton acres across Alabama are yet to be planted due to continuous rains in May. Listen in to thoughts on how to think about moving forward. @ScottGraham72@PrecAgEngineer@Ron_Smith23@CadeGrace64 https://t.co/s5IUIywBnr
Ducks and geese in fields tell part of the story for Central AL. Some want minimal rain the next 7 to 10 days to finish cotton, peanut, and soybean planting/replanting, while the potential yield for dryland corn is very high if recent weather patterns continue. #ALCrops

Still feeling the pain from 2023. Trying to put 2024 behind us and survive to make it to 2025. Central Alabama soybean trial in the books. Not much learned, just an old phrase reiterated. "If it don't rain, it don't matter."
Reports of fall armyworms in pastures are still coming in across AL. Some producers do not have the equipment to spray, so not much can be done. Cooler weather next week will slow worms down, but we still have the potential for one more generation. #ALcrops@Ron_Smith23@ACESedu
