@Dami16525434@USAOWTC But honestly though is it the money or the nature of humans to gravitate towards hoarding resources and greediness? because money is just pieces or paper or metals. its the behavior around said objects that's the true evil.
"Therefore, the greater this product, the less is he himself" i loved how he also compared this to religion. Its similar in that when you have to devote your whole life to something you lose yourself to become a part of the whole. #WTCMarx@USAOWTC
It's so disappointing that I was never taught just how much Japan's style of art influenced some famous painters like Picasso or Van Gogh. The paintings lose a big piece of their meaning by not teaching what their muses/inspiration were. #WTCImp@USAOWTC
@JosephUmmel@USAOWTC Yeah you never really hear that these famous paintings we all know and love were inspired by Japan. I was always told the artists had inspirations but they were never specified, i can't imagine how many other cultures styles influenced other kinds of art.
@DestineyisHere7@USAOWTC I think they wanted to get out of romanticizing life and just show the realities. Whether painted, sculpted or photographed they wanted something real to show the harsh truths and challenge those old romantic ideas.
Rosa Bonheur.. what a badass.. wore men's clothes, smoked never married but had "female companions" and painted and sculpted realistic animals all day. Honestly she's Goals for me. #WTCReal19@USAOWTC
@GG_WT3@USAOWTC Honestly it feels like Victor is just a really crappy Dad who doesn't know what he's doing and just ends up making his kid even more messed up than himself.
I never really noticed the romantic elements and now having more background of the time and society its written in I see the book in a different light and I have a lot more sympathy for Victor than I did back in HS. #WTCFrank1@USAOWTC
@jfig9693@USAOWTC Food for thought. Would faith be considered a form of reason? Faith is structured slightly different but you have to have a certain amount of reason when studying holy doctrine and those without faith can only critically analyze it rather than take it for its word.
"Like a child from the womb, like a ghost from the tomb,
I arise and unbuild it again." The last stanza of The Cloud has me comparing the "life and death" cycle of the clouds to the concept of reincarnation. We just keep recycling ourselves back again. #WTCPBS@USAOWTC
@GG_WT3@USAOWTC I actually really liked this part because you can think of it in different ways. You can be strong for resisting temptations but you could also be strong for defying the norms and seeking your own path.
"The nakedness of woman is the work of God" wow I wish more people saw it this way rather than the constant slut shaming and catcalling. #WTCBlake@USAOWTC
@WT3tweets@USAOWTC with each poem you could find dozens of different ways to interpret it which kind of makes it difficult to discuss because everyone is going to take different meanings from them.
#WTCRom@USAOWTC I love how they all seem to see life in vastly different ways. Also the Burns poem was so difficult to comprehend because it looks like a completely different language, almost like reading Mark Twain, written more how its spoken than how it should be written.
"manifested in the goings-on of the
Universe, and habitually impelled to create them where he does not find them" this spoke to me on such a level, you can study the masters but there will always be that need to create new things #WTCPref@USAOWTC
I loved the Turner painting of the train and how people were upset that there wasn't very much detail but if you had stuck your head out of a train to look at the mist you wouldn't see a lot of detail which would make it more realistic rather than abstract. #WTCNat@USAOWTC
