@davidvlynn Steep turns. Kept diving or climbing in them. Watched a YouTube video of a guy explaining them. The “trick”….establish the turn then reach down and roll the trim wheel a couple of turns nose up. Keep you from having to provide the back pressure.

@MickeyBlowtorch It’s probably good practice to go out on the runway and do a high speed taxi every so often….preferably on an uncontrolled field. You get a good feel for braking, controlling it when it gets light…all that.

Most effective stuff I’ve used. Especially like the hats. Wet them, then wear and you get evaporative cooling on your melon. The ball caps also don’t have that dumb center button on top. I wear them flying. No button under the headset.

@Stuck4ger Let’s see…..what temps did the skin get to during flight. What temps does magnesium start to burn? Be a real pretty firework. One of the more aggravating things about Aerospace museums is all the “experts” walking around who don’t know anything.

@Hush_Kit In Top Gun Maverick he’s still in the military. Original Top Gun 1986. TG Maverick 2022. 36 years. In TG he was a Lt. The absolute min to get from O-1 to O-3 is 3.5 years. Meaning he had at least 39.5 years TIS by 2022. Up or out would have got him. Not even Ice could fix that.

@BuzzPatterson I got one of those about 2 years ago…..8 years after I retired. Found out my name/rank had been attached to the squadron I work for as a civilian. Funny part was I was being counted in their “overdue” numbers. The Commander and I had a good laugh as I told him no way!
