@IRanalyst@sandylanceley If you think people are misunderstanding, state your position so everyone understands. If you instead make yourself a small target by not stating a position then what's the point?
@domhauschild * Cabinets don't fund the military, parliament does.
* If the role of the PM is quasi-wartime, who exactly are we at quasi-war with?
* Someone tell him what "unconditional" means.
If this is an accurate and fair summary then he's an idiot.
@ApexJones22 It's a different story: someone fighting with a lightsabre who wasn't trained in the academy on Coruscant and doesn't know what they are doing. The movie has big faults but that isn't one of them.
@Sanifreeze@SundaeDivine The US Constitution claimed all men were created equal, but permitted chattel slavery. With time the equality grew, not all the way to full equality but a lot of the way.
This is why I prefer my despotism with hypocrisy. Sometimes the hypocrisy becomes real.
@BigGeckoOnly@SydneyLWatson If everything wanted to kill us we'd be dead. In fact everything *could* kill us but chooses not to. For heaven's sake don't start shooting at them, you might get them angry.
@SydneyLWatson Anyone who lives in states where police are armed sees guns reasonably regularly. Which 50 years ago was just New South Wales but today I think is basically everywhere.
@Dictionarycom Your explanation assumes the reader doesn't know which one to use and once upon a time that was indeed the main reason. But today many with impeccable literacy are making this mistake because they are in too much of a hurry to fix their autocorrect.
@whstancil Trump only needs to survive until your next primary contest and denounce you, mobilizing his army of minions to replace you with someone MAGA-loyal.
@Uncommonsince76 The British knew about the death camps at least from late 1941 - see e.g. Wavell's ditty in Alanbrooke's diary. They didn't announce it because they were afraid no one would believe them and they would look like they were desperately making up stories.
@Uncommonsince76 The Red Cross letter is one guy, who once got into Auschwitz. Is it really the only letter the Red Cross ever wrote on the subject? Or has it been cherry-picked, the one time they were fooled?
From https://t.co/mWTDsAZcM6 it looks like McClelland overstated Rossel's confidence.
@Uncommonsince76 WRT Zyklon B, the SS dynamited the gas chamber as they were leaving, so it was exposed to the weather for decades. Hence a lot more Zyklon B in the delousing chamber, which wasn't dynamited.
@Uncommonsince76 WRT codes: The Germans mostly used telephone rather than radio within Germany (and the Netherlands, which shared a phone system with Germany). This bit the allies at Market-Garden: they couldn't read German codes because they weren't using radio. Could be the same effect?
@Noahpinion Biden bequeathed Trump a generally excellent economy. It didn't do him any good, partly because conservative control of most of the swing voter watched press allowed GOP to cherry pick inflation as an issue. Unless you think there's something special about inflation.
