@CoopTory Canadian provinces should build out rural transit networks, honestly it's nice to be able to sit on a motorcoach for multi hour trips instead of driving, and I say this as someone who has done 4000 kilometre drives as the sole driver before.
1) rent a truck or van, Home Depot has those available
2) Call a cab
I've done plenty of work on my house and when my compact sedan wasn't big enough I rented a van, it really wasn't that hard. People need to not have a victim mentality about how they need big vehicles to live
@tnertz@jasonc_nc@boynamedcadence@Chicago_Goofies@ChitownPatriot1 Have fun biking drywall when you need to fix a wall in your house. Have fun riding a bus with groceries for 20 people for your family get together.
Oh wait you won’t own property in your socialist utopia.
@benmyers29@BullpenConsult Sometimes I wonder whether the left is deliberately pushing for terrible policies in order to so thoroughly break the system that there is a revolution.
@aedison@meganysta A similar example of higher parking prices, if you make house calls, this sounds concerning because what if I need to visit somewhere with on street paid parking, but if structured properly it can mean much less time hunting for parking, and special trades passes can save money.
@aedison@meganysta I've 100% been there, I'm also in the trades and get why tradespersons may be concerned, especially when not knowing the details of policy. If done poorly congestion pricing can hurt tradesperson, if done thoughtfully, it can substantially benefit.
@meganysta@aedison For tradesmen who visit many sites such as making house calls, congestion zones can be set up to ge only charged once per day, and the reduced congestion potentially means making more service calls per day, meaning on net the profession can net profit. Trades frequently benefit!
@meganysta@aedison Congestion pricing usually has time of day costing, e.g starting at 7 (like NYC), which many tradesmen arrive to construction sites before the pricing starts, and it's also one way meaning tradesmen leaving the zone during congestion charge time aren't charged.
Commercial Property Fire - Intermodal dr. & Goreway dr. - Heavy presence of emergency vehicles in the area, please avoid - Crews are actively fighting the fire - No injuries reported ^DGM @BPFFA1068
Hope people understand when she says they turned off her power wheelchair what that means is a switch at the back and bottom - completely beyond reach of wheelchair user - was turned off. So they effectively hog-tied her.
I find it both hilarious and sad that the exact stretch of Yonge that looked roughly like this in my lifetime now has the City cracking down on the signage adorning small food kiosks.
