@Wendi_Irlbeck "For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life" - Ephesians 2:10
Don't confuse spiritual activity with spiritual intimacy. Seek dependence, surrender, humility, repentance & meekness so that you don't hear Jesus say, "I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers."
I was a godless man for so long, a man I literally don’t recognize anymore. My life before Jesus feels like a foggy memory of a dream that keeps slipping further away.
I heard the “new life” concept before, but assumed it was mostly metaphorical.
It’s literal. He makes you a completely new creation. I sound crazy to anyone who hasn’t been through it. But IYKYK.
I had this realization after my son asked me tonight, “Daddy, can we read the Bible?”
Any dad who’s heard these words know exactly how I feel right now. But it just hit me like… BRO, I look back 10 years ago and the idea that I would have a son who loves the Lord and personally REQUESTS to hear His word is such an unfathomable reality. Impossible even.
It only came to pass because the man I was is dead. Fully dead. And thank God for that.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
- Ezekiel 36:26
I want this for you so badly.
@jason_howerton Revelation 3:20 "Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice & open the door, I will come in to you & eat with you, & you with me." I finally opened the door this past October & have been running towards Christ ever since. Truly life changing & live giving.
To abide means to remain, to dwell, to make your home in Christ. Not visiting Him when life gets hard, but living every moment connected to the Vine. When His words sink deep into us and shape our thoughts, desires, and decisions, something powerful happens: our prayers align with His heart, fruit grows naturally, and the Father is glorified.
You don’t have to strive in your own strength. You were never meant to. Just stay close to Jesus. Let His love be the air you breathe. Obey His commands out of that love, not duty. And watch what He produces through a life fully surrendered to Him.
Abide today.
Stay in the Vine.
Bear fruit that lasts.
And let the world see what a life rooted in His love really looks like.
@realpeteyb123 I've had some dark ass days but with two kids & a wife it didn't matter how bad it got because I wasn't ever going to quit on them. Instead of surrendering to the lie, I decided to surrender to Jesus & life has been brighter ever since.
@PhilipAMitchell "May God be gracious to us, bless us & make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you." Psalm 67:1-3
Early this morning in my gated apartment complex, I came across a harmless homeless man named James charging his phone on the top floor. Instead of judgment or fear, I felt led to stop. I asked his name, offered him a bottle of water and a banana, and told him I’m a dietitian whose joy is to fuel, nourish and encourage
His face lit up with surprise and gratitude. He called me an angel. 😂 no no..I gently replied, ‘I’m not an angel, but I believe God provides and meets our every need through various ways. All things belong to Him.’ I shared that Jesus loves him and wished him a wonderful day. He thanked me sincerely, unplugged his phone, and left peacefully.
You never know what God is doing in a moment like that. We never know if we’re entertaining angels unaware… or simply serving Jesus Himself in disguise.
Scripture I’m reminded of and wanted to share…”Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.’”
-Hebrews 13:2
‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me… Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ -Matthew 25:35, 40
Jesus didn’t cross to the other side of the road. He saw people, met their needs, and loved without judgment. This man wasn’t going to harm me he was thirsty, hungry, and likely longing to be seen. A small act of kindness can make a big difference.
If you’re able, help someone today.
You might be the answer to their prayer… and they might be part of God’s provision for your own heart. 💛🙏Go out and be the hands and feet of Jesus!
Talent is a gift. Excellence is a choice.
God gave you the gift. The excellence is on you.
Every day you decide what to do with what you were given.
The question isn't whether you're talented.
The question is whether you're choosing excellence with what you've been given.
