Asked by @wolfgangdepner today if the NDP could reduce the deficit w/out economic growth & tax increases, @Dave_Eby said spending will need to rise on health & education but that a @bcndp govt would also decrease the deficit "year-over-year."
Sure would have been good if 10 years ago the NDP weren't fighting tooth and nail against the things they now say they support.
From tunnels, to dams, to LNG, to Mining, to quite frankly industry of any kind, this NDP has failed to provide the foundation for a healthy economy.
.@Dave_Eby's first campaign trip to the north yesterday to announce an @bcndp will double critical mineral exports in the next 5 years, cut project approval times & expand the @rupertport
BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson says more economic activity and less taxes are the keys to increasing revenue:
"There are other ways to generate income in this province — it doesn't have to be on wool that my mom might use to sew socks."
BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson defends his commitment to repeal SOGI:
"It has become an absolute lightning rod for division in this province ... and I think many people are confused about what SOGI has become in our schools."
@cbcwatcher Glad to see this reality getting a bit more play.
Additional credit… @BrennanDay4CV for pushing @Josie_Osborne on this in estimates.
I'll also take minor credit for pointing the CBC reporter at the source in Hansard. And yelling about this for a very long time. 😀
The NDP has one plan for BC: block growth, then raise your taxes to cover the gap.
Our BC Energy Superpower Plan turbocharges wealth and investment, because growth is how we fund the programs British Columbians rely on.
BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson vows to make the affordability crisis "a top priority" if elected:
"The solution for so many problems for David Eby has been to raise taxes ... As your premier, I will never allow our government to raise taxes."
Cassandra’s story shows what happens when patients fall through the cracks. The Legislature may have been cut short, but this work isn’t finished. Watch, listen, and share—and help me demand answers, accountability, and action for patients and families left waiting.
British Columbians…
Before you get caught up in the election headlines, I want you to understand what an early election can mean for people who have spent months fighting to get something changed.
For ten months, I’ve been fighting for access to Multiple Sclerosis medications in B.C.
Ones that are available in every other province but here.
Just as we finally had a path forward, the election was called.
The Legislature stopped. The work put on hold.
But MS doesn’t stop. My need and for many others for treatment doesn’t stop. And neither does this fight.
I’m not a political person. I forced into advocacy because I had to fight for access to the treatment helping protect my future. But also fighting for everyone else in this province facing barriers to their treatments.
So please… look beyond the headlines.
Because behind every issue are real people, living with the consequences.
See the people behind the politics. 🧡
Thank you @BrennanDay4CV for trying to stand behind people living with MS in British Columbia. Thank you for listening and supporting this need.. I hope that after Oct.24 we will continue this fight with you by our side!

BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson on ER closures:
"We are living in a time where we can put men and women on the Moon, but we can't keep a hospital open in Merritt?!"
Pulling the rug out from under the victims of ICBC no-fault mid committee is a shameful act perpetrated by a shameless Premier.
Eby and his spin machine need to be kicked to the curb, and British Columbians need to regain a voice in Victoria.
The emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital in #Merritt will be closed from 6 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2026 to 7 a.m. on Sept. 27, 2026. Patients can access emergency care at Royal Inland Hospital or dial 911. https://t.co/Oetg0uQn6u
David Eby talks a big game about standing up to Trump.
But you can’t stand up to Trump by building ferries offshore, fighting against Canadian resource projects, and pretending slogans are taking action.
A strong Conservative government will stand up to Trump's bullying by building BC’s economy into Canada’s economic backbone.

The ICBC no-fault review was cut short when the election was called.
What questions were left unanswered?
I joined Jill Bennett on CKNW to talk about the committee and why its work matters.
Watch our conversation.
When Trump attacks our workers, British Columbians don't roll over. We become our own best customer.
Our Built in B.C. and Canada rules mean what we build uses what we make, and the people who make it are first in line for the jobs.
Let’s build B.C. strong, together. 🇨🇦
The only time I've seen a conservative stand up to a developer is to ask for a donation or a job. I'll stand up for British Columbians, every time.
That's why today I pledged a higher speculation and vacancy tax and a new Unsold Condo Tax, so developers sell the finished homes they're sitting on and the revenue goes into building more affordable ones.
Let's get people into homes they can afford, and build B.C. strong.
Two BC Ferries sailings between Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) and Departure Bay (Nanaimo) were cancelled on Friday morning due to a mechanical issue, and two more are at risk of cancellation.
