Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.

What just happened in the oval office was a planned ambush, designed to help a brutal Russian dictator and hurt America's security.
Trump has become Putin's lapdog, and America's global power is hemorrhaging as America sides with dictators over democracy. What an embarrassment.
@patrickbetdavid@brianglenntv If you followed the Ukraine/Russian war from the onset, you would know why he doesnt wear a suit. He wears the same clothes during meetings with our American President to remain in solidarity with his troops. His answer was, “after the war is over, I will wear a suit”.
Nothing to worry about, just an administration official suggesting that the DOJ may prosecute a member of Congress for advising people about their rights.
Happening right now. Right in front of us.
You are posting too often on social media and not using enough social platforms.
In the last week, we analyzed 8,029,303 social media posts across all the major platforms.
Guess how many of those posts got engagement?
And by engagement, I mean likes, comments, and shares.
Only 39.58% of the content.
When you use social media, you see the stuff that has engagement, as most social networks are discovery networks.
Where they show you what’s hot based on your interests.
So you aren’t really seeing the stuff that hasn’t been doing well.
To top it off, not only are most people not engaging with most of the content being published…
But we surveyed 3000 marketers to get a better understanding of why:
- On average, people post 2.6 pieces of content daily per social network.
- They have accounts on 8.3 social networks but, on average, only use 6.1 social networks.
- They spend, on average, 24 minutes to create each piece of content.
- Less than 10% of their content generates more than 10 likes.
What most marketers don’t get is algorithms penalize you for putting out crap content.
When you start putting out good content for once, it takes a while for it to start performing well, as you have to rebuild the credibility of your account.
So, instead of posting too often on social media, focus first on posting quality stuff people want to engage with.
Once you get that right, then increase your posting frequency.
And if you aren’t sure what people will like, test a lot of content out on X.
See, X doesn’t really penalize you if you put up crap content.
So, post as often as you want on X, take your winners, and post them on the rest of the social networks.
If you do that you’ll start getting engagement and save time.
At least the posts you are publishing will get traction, so you won’t be wasting as much time.

At the end of the day, the greatest privilege of my job is working with people who are driven by mission. These last 5 days, I saw people across OpenAI remaining calm and resolute in driving their mission despite all that was happening around them. And I saw people across Microsoft remain focused on our mission and serving our customers and partners, stepping up to help in every way. This is what I’m especially thankful for going into the Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you for your resolve and for the work you do each day to advance AI safely and responsibly and distribute its benefits to all of humanity.
Combat medics like @bekamaciorowski are essential to military operations, and save lives every day on the frontline in #Ukraine. Donating funds, or buying IFAKS directly, helps Beka and her fellow medics play their crucial role in defending Ukraine.
Good to see low signature, mobile, small HQ being practiced by @3BrigadeTSV on Exercise @TalismanSabre. The 'signature battle' is a key element of modern military operations that you do NOT want to lose.
