@edwardklement@ibiriti If they can not Fund AU themselves, there is no need to have AU at the size that they can not afford! Who bewitched us Africans!!
@BasedPastorTrav I am not sure if you are a Pastor as you claim by Your title BUT DRC problems are very complex than your post and all your Knowledge. M23 is not only people, there are families, no resolved questions, more m23 will keep coming and yet are still born in Camp

🔴. A CALL FOR ACTION- AT-RISK CIVILIANS PROTECTION.
Current situation:
🔴. For a week so, there have been intense military confrontations between FARDC/Wazalendo supported by Burundian army (@fdnbbi) against #MRDP (Mouvement Républicain pour la Dignité des Peuples (formerly #Twirwaneho), a “distant ally” of M23 (@afcongo) and RDF (@RwandaMoD).
🔴. For several weeks, internet and telecommunications services are highly disrupted and since last week, there has been a total blackout. Extremely hard to know what is going on now.
🔴. Hardly accessible sources state that the military confrontations are approaching Minembwe from Gakenke, Point Zero-Rwitsankuku, Bilalo-Mbili towards Mikenge (Mikenke). Highly likely that Rugezi (East-south) and Lulenge (South) of Minembwe will activate their forces.
🔴. It seems that FARDC/Wazalendo & FDNB intend to contain, once and for all, #Twirwaneho and crash any possible threat that may link this group to #M23/RDF. FARDC & allies have deployed huge military equipments-materials and units in this region.
🔴. Informed sources in #Minembwe, #Goma, #Kigali and within the diaspora have hinted that there have been deep rift (for many months now) between M23-MRDP military wings over leadership, legitimacy, and the political direction of armed struggle.
🔴. Moreover, there are reasons to believe that the MRDP-Twirwaneho and Minembwe conflict had not been included nor addressed in the Doha process.
🔴. Today’s security situation is uncertain for #MRDP “Twirwaneho” combatants.
🔴. The fate and the future of civilians in Minembwe and Mikenge is highly uncertain. Since 2017 and mostly 2019, civilians in #Minembwe have experienced acute atrocities committed by FARDC-MaiMai, and Burundian rebels, namely Red-Tabara (@Red_Tabara).
🔴. If there are still civilians living in Minembwe, it’s because young people, mostly men chose to fend by themselves. It should be included in any efforts to stabilise the Eastern #DRC.
🔴. I call upon the African Great Lakes regional mechanisms, US and Qatari mediation, Togo and the African Union to consider the necessity to grapple with the specifics of violence in Minembwe beyond political narratives of #Kigali & #Kinshasa.
🔴. Protection of at-risk communities and civilians in #Minembwe is highly needed. @marcorubio@US_SrAdvisorAF@DiplomatieTogo@_AfricanUnion@MofaQatar_EN@PresidenceTg@FEGnassingbe@_ICGLR_@jumuiya@SADC_News@hrw@amnesty
