@LNER It was cancelled just after I was told that I couldn’t get on the earlier departing service. Do you know when the next service is due to depart please?
@LNER the 13:30 from Kings Cross to York is showing as “on time” in the app but all other services around it seem to be delayed or cancelled. I’ve seen the chaos in KingsCross so have gone to a coffee shop to work while I wait. But should I?
@LNER No problem, will do, looks like the earlier 13:03 Edinburgh service is about to depart, I know these things can be difficult for all concerned and especially after the sad news of the cause of the disruption. 😔
Good luck @AndyBurnhamGM , I believe that we need urgent change to our country and hope that the people of #makerfield can set you on our way to be the leader of the Labour Party.

Shout out to the 1818 London King’s Cross to Newcastle service the @LNER team did a wonderful job of looking after us all and even celebrating Shrove Tuesday with pancakes for dessert.
@SimonCalder, My wife and friends have had their @Ryanair flights changed turning a 3 day 2 night city break to a 2 night 1 day city break, automatically changed to a different flight despite other similar flights being available, online chat crashes and calls cut off. Help…
The highlight of #LabourConference for me was been able to talk at the Business Panal event along side fellow mayors and really put the case forward for how much our region has to offer.
I spoke about York and North Yorkshire being a key player in the food and farming sector, the rail industry as well as our bold ambition for Net Zero. I also spoke of the challenges we face. The lack of affordable homes, poor transport connectivity and how it’s vital we give people the skills they need to stay and work in our beautiful region.
Many are heading off to University Open Days at the moment here's a few starters on costs , marketing and more (feel free to add yours)...
1) If a big name Professor is speaking - ask 'what are your contact hours with undergraduates' some only do research and are just wheeled out for the day to be in the shop window.
2) Accommodation costs are more important these days. Student maintenance loans have not kept up with inflation (Eng) and most students don't get the full loan (parents are expected to fill some of the gap). So while tuition fees are standard, what really counts if ongoing cost of living.
3) If they tell you about well-known alumni, check what course they did, some spread their famous former students reps widely.
4) Find out what's actually taught and how its taught. If it's a practical course make sure you see the labs and the studios and ask what access you'll have.
Overall, don't be afraid to ask questions. This isn't school, it's a sales pitch. Speak to existing students on the course if you can, for an honest appraisal.
I've today sent an open letter to the Chancellor @RachelReevesMP on a range of non-partisan issues of financial unfairness inc Child Benefit, LISA fines, Carers Allowance, Tax-Free Childcare, financial ed, Mortgage Prisoners, debt letters, Student maintenance loans & more...
