Alfred lost his job to an alarm clock.
Now AI is making us ask the same question: what am I worth when a machine can do my work?
Maybe We’re Not F*cked After All. My new book on money, work & worth.

@Crypt0_Facts@BitPaine@GodSon83 He invented profitable, sustainable mass production of self driving electric cars. The machine that builds the machines.
@terrybythebay@ZubyMusic All the haters said Musk shouldn’t plan to go to mars. A couple years later we got starlink as a positive externality. The future is emergent, not preplanned. The only way to ruin it to stop innovation on the grounds of reason
To everyone who thinks that AI is going to get more expensive once the VC money dries up, like Uber did, that's not what's happening here.

We are releasing Ultramarine 1 Flash, a frontier-class model built for knowledge work. It is open-source and achieves similar performance to Fable 5, while being 60x cheaper.
It was post-trained by a team of 5 for ~$300k all-in. Available on API now, with weights releasing in 2 weeks.
@DaveShapi What Jeff is saying is already happening. We work less and have more leisure time than we did 100 years ago. Same thing happened the 100 years before that.
@Delicious_Tacos If the underlying technology doesn't improve, yes. Uber's technology is still a normal car and a normal driver. You've got the labor, and you've got the infrastructure. That's not what's happening with AI at all. Prices are dropping 99% year over year.
@AlexHormozi Even if revenue is flat, it may be that the standards for products and services has risen and so you would have to have improved just to stay the same relative to other companies who are also using AI. Not necessarily that the tokens are being spent on things that don’t matter
@MTSlive@sophiadew@AndrewYang The first dividend of the AI economy is that normal life gets less punishing for the lower class. Personalized consultants, advisors, doctors, and tutors used to be reserved for the rich. Now everyone has access to one in their pocket.
