@oldenoughtosay Literally happened to me - 14 and not having told anyone but wanting to tell my parents. Visiting relatives and uncles says something homophobic and some laugh but nobody says anything. I donโt tell anyone for another three years even though Iโd been going to tell them soon
@kramer62no@danderfield Itโs been the lyrics for at least 2 decades, I remember reading them in a book about the cats as a kid but theyโd removed it from previous recordings played and now theyโve brought it back ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@JayHulmePoet Back when I attended regularly I did work with my church on the difference of โacceptingโ and actively affirming. Discussed ways of making clear to people outside the church that they were supportive. Passivity is not enough in this space. But weโre in Australia and Uniting so ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@MST_Writes This sounds great for your daughter! Itโs becoming more and more common in schools.
That being said, some schools pressure likely lower achieving students to go unscored to improve the schoolโs average ATAR - something for students and families to be aware of
@jaxstar84@MST_Writes@suburbanservant Itโs an official option for VCE with papers and documents and stuff so it definitely doesnโt go unfinished here. I would be surprised if WA didnโt have something similar.
I donโt know who needs to hear this but itโs possible to love your job and feel extremely grateful for it, AND to be critical of the excess labour demands, exploitation, bad bosses, and institutional problems entangled with it
the thing i hate the most is that the queer community had absolutely nothing to do with this whole NRL sea eagles mess, and now we have to watch people debate about us and our value and our existence for however long and it is just exhausting
