@oldenoughtosay Literally happened to me - 14 and not having told anyone but wanting to tell my parents. Visiting relatives and uncles says something homophobic and some laugh but nobody says anything. I don’t tell anyone for another three years even though I’d been going to tell them soon

@JayHulmePoet Back when I attended regularly I did work with my church on the difference of “accepting” and actively affirming. Discussed ways of making clear to people outside the church that they were supportive. Passivity is not enough in this space. But we’re in Australia and Uniting so 🤷🏻‍♀️

That being said, some schools pressure likely lower achieving students to go unscored to improve the school’s average ATAR - something for students and families to be aware of
