I grew up in North County San Diego. My high school was quite literally in the middle of an avocado grove. There were generations of Avocado rancher families throughout San Diego, Orange and Ventura counties who quit the business due to ever increasingly restrictive environmental policies. The "fruit" of prohibitive environmental law, in this case, benefit the Cartels.
