Who decides whether a Bitcoin payment is valid? Not a bank.
Independent nodes check it against shared rules, while miners add blocks.
That allows BTC to move without a central operator, but protecting your private keys remains your responsibility.

AI consumes energy in 2 phases: training and inference. The first has a finite cost per training run; the second keeps accumulating with use.
One training run has a defined end. Inference follows demand, whether the model handles a few requests or millions.
Microblog @antgrasso
Training requires computation to develop the model. Once a training run is complete, the energy consumed during that run is a fixed total.
The trained model can then be used repeatedly without being trained again for every request.
But every request still requires computation.
The more frequently the model is used, the more inference energy accumulates. The amount also depends on how much processing each request requires.
A simple question and a complex analysis do not necessarily consume the same amount of energy.
For organizations deploying AI, estimating energy consumption means considering both the training process and the workload generated throughout the life of the service.

Cost avoidance gets the AI project approved. Revenue growth gets the strategy funded. Once cost avoidance gets approval, industrial AI without industrial intelligence is sophisticated guesswork. The quality of AI outcomes is always limited by the quality and context of the industrial data feeding the models.

Bank of America removed the $20,000 balance requirement from its checking rewards program, and 30 million checking customers became eligible overnight.
More than 5 million have enrolled. Roughly 20,000 new-to-bank customers now open a checking account and join each week, 2.5 times the rate before the program launched.
Good numbers. Also the easy ones.
Shikha Narula, Head of Consumer Deposits and Rewards at Bank of America, said on a recent episode of Banking Transformed that opening the app is not the measure. A customer has to activate a deal and receive cash back. Activity is not necessarily engagement.
The signals she watches sit further down: direct deposits moving to the bank, card transactions rising, a top-of-wallet card coming across from another institution.
If the objective is deeper relationships, enrollment alone is a weak endpoint.
The point for the rest of us is not to copy Bank of America's numbers. It is to connect the behavior a loyalty strategy is meant to influence with the measures used to judge it.
Deposit behavior, payments, card usage, product adoption, investment balances. Those tell you whether the relationship changed.
❓ What is your loyalty program measured on?
