"I am a foreigner in my OWN Country"
The feeling is very common right now in South Africa, and it's not in my head.

1. The economy doesn't include you.
You have the ID, you vote, you know the anthem - but you can't get a job, or you work hard and still can't afford rent. When you see other people opening shops, getting tenders, moving forward while you are stuck, it feels like the country is working for them, not for you.

2. The law feels upside down.
You try to follow the rules - queue at Home Affairs, queue at the municipality, pay for a licence - and it takes months. Then someone else seems to bypass it all and is trading tomorrow. It makes you feel like being South African is a disadvantage.

3. Your area changed fast.
Ladysmith, Hillbrow, Sunnyside, Durban CBD - 10/15 years ago the spaza was run by Ouma down the road. Now it's different faces, different languages. You don't feel at home in your own street anymore, and no one asked you if you were okay with that change.

4. Government talks to everyone except you.
Every speech is about investors, international community, globalisation, Africa is one. But when you complain about water, lights, jobs - you are told to be patient, or called xenophobic for asking questions. So you feel silenced in your own house.

It's not about hating anyone. It's about wanting what was fought for - to finally feel free, safe, and that you belong and benefit in your own country.
