A prospective cross-sectional study of unsolicited predatory email invitations in #colorectalsurgery run by @NCBDresearch - it's time to hunt the predators!
#CAPTCHAstudy update - data collection ended on Tuesday, and we've collected an incredible total of 8412 unsolicited email invitations for analysis! This is more than we could ever have hoped for: thanks so much to our collaborators for making it happen!
Happy weekend everyone 🤖
Some next-level academic fraud going on here - @abolfazl_madani / @zndhehejehr photoshopped his name onto someone else's paper published in Nature Communications, and shared it on a sham website full of predatory conference scams! The deviousness of predators knows no limits 🤖

We have been very busy Sameh, and will be busy for a little while longer yet - our esteemed collaborators were very generous with their emails! The results so far are fascinating, we can't wait to finish the data analysis so we can share our findings with you all 🤖
Great to hear from you finally @CaptchaStudy, I assume you were a bit "busy" managing the substantial amount of predatory emails we were forwarding you over an entire month!
Do you ever wonder how fake/predatory conference organisers are adapting to the pandemic? Well WASET have very much pivoted to 'digital', putting on *1,880* virtual conferences 'in Prague' on 3/4 Sept alone! During September they have 25,000 events planned. At €500 per person 🤔
didn't know Agatha Christie had a gig to help solicit submission of "transcripts" for a predatory journal. 🤣 I'll pass on this one but still a fan of Poirot and other mystery masterpieces by real @agathachristie
This is a well-meaning point, but why should research from developing countries be published in a separate section? Academic publishing is responsible for a lot of the bias against research undertaken in LMICs, which is what drives them to #predatoryjournals in the first place 🤖
Received an email from #predatoryjournal Couldn't help notice that most articles were from low HDI index countries.Wouldn't it be nice if the ⬆️ impact journals have a small separate section for research articles from developing countries. Might help generate interest of research

I had a really good laugh this morning when a predatory journal recruited me for the editorial board. The journal might not be legitimate, but it has the BEST title. I’d say this journal is going places, but it’s already everywhere.
