Excited about the opportunity to become a Spetzler Neurosurgery Research Fellow @BarrowNeuro under Dr. Preul. I can't wait to get started and see where this journey will lead!
⚠️Our new study is now published in @SNInt Surgical Neurology International.
👉🏾In this study, we examined postoperative radiographic predictors of recurrence in chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH), focusing on subdural space and midline shift in a single-center cohort.
👉🏾In a series of 428 patients undergoing surgical evacuation, 10.5% experienced at least 1 recurrence. Two postoperative imaging findings stood out as independent predictors, particularly in bilateral CSDH cases:
* Midline shift
* Size of the postoperative secondary subdural space
👉🏾These findings suggest that routine postoperative imaging is not just descriptive but can directly inform risk stratification. Patients with these features may benefit from closer follow-up and potentially adjusted management strategies.
👉🏾This work contributes to a more objective, imaging-based approach to identifying high-risk patients after CSDH surgery.
I would like to thank all co-authors, particularly @CarlosCalde_MD 👏

Excited to be attending #CNS2025 for the first time and to present some of our work! Grateful for the mentorship, collaboration, and support @BarrowNeuro and @rcmupr that made each project possible.
Can’t wait to connect with the community!
See you in LA! 🧠 @CNS_Update
Honored to present my research last week at Yale’s VAMOS Noon Seminar

We explored the roots of palliative care & its urgent need in cardiovascular medicine, especially for patients with PAD, a group too often left behind.
Grateful to grow alongside this brilliant team. 🌱
