It is so accurate that Swiss Re (a large and successful life insurance company) have started sharing this message #chronicillness
@KetoCarnivore It looks like the proteins in the butter migrated to the middle and left a fatty ghee-like substance around the edges...? If it doesn't taste rancid, enjoy!
@TuckerGoodrich @Daniel36_MbM Unbelievable. Makes me feel less worried about being a carnivore. I eat this way to eliminate symptoms of serious health issues, but lack of evidence long term on this diet does create feelings of uncertainty.
@VeganRecovering@Life_PlotTwists @duder_4 95% carnivore for 7 years, reversed CKD, seizures, IBS, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia which keto and AIP didn't reverse. My 5% plants are fresh herbs or bites of fruit or veg. I still have rare oxalate dumping, and find higher fat helps. Experiment, everyone is different.
Here's the real deal:
Our bodies have evolved to develop an amazing mechanism called Gluconeogenesis which allows us to convert both protein & fat to glucose at any time & therefore making carbohydrate an unnecessary macronutrient for periods of time. However, our brains need a small supply of Glucose on a daily basis & the body will make this happen. Unfortunately, too many people in the #keto community have failed to recognize that the main initiator of Gluconeogenesis is an elevation of the hormone Cortisol. There are not many reasons or conditions that one would want to keep pushing #Gluconeogenesis through #Cortisol spikes. Although this is much less of an issue in healthy individuals who make exercise a routine part of everyday life. It is important for those that do not.
Let's look at a few different ways of eating:
Very Low-Carb/Ketogenic Diet: This type of diet typically involves consuming fewer than 20-30 grams of carbohydrates per day. The ketogenic diet is a prominent example, which aims to bring your body into a state of #ketosis, where it uses fat for fuel instead of carbs. This is a great plan for 3 classes of people. 1) Those who suffer from seizure disorders or other neurological disorders; #Parkinson's, #Alzheimer's Dz. 2) Those who need to lose large amounts of fat & live a sedentary lifestyle. 3) Those with food addictions, esp, sugar.
Low-Carb Diet: A slightly less restrictive low-carb diet could allow for 50-100 grams of carbohydrates per day. This range is still far below RD's, nutritionists & the AMA standard recommended daily intake of carbohydrates but is more flexible than a ketogenic diet & where most people committed to health w/ fitness should be. This is part of the #LCHPMF Hormone Optimization Diet. https://t.co/dEwS0OFJ9J
Moderate-Carb Diet: This type of diet includes a carbohydrate intake that is lower than the standard diet but not as low as a ketogenic or low-carb diet. It generally means eating between 120-150 grams of carbs per day. This may be a good range for people who train hard & have good metabolic health but not great for fat loss unless training heavily.
Any & all of these choices in eating are where a person's diet should be on point 90% of the time & should be void of Grain, Beans, Legumes, Sugar, Seed Oils & refined food.
The diet should be heavily weighted toward animal-based protein & fats i.e; ruminant meat, fish, eggs, some poultry & pork & whole raw dairy (If tolerated)
The best sources of carbohydrate foods are cruciferous vegetables i.e.; broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, etc.
Also, asparagus, zucchini, yellow squash, onions, celery, garlic & spinach (oxalates but cooking voids them),
Fruits: avocados, tomatoes & berries.
For most people, a few servings a week of white rice, sweet potato, new red potatoes or wild rice (it's grass, not a grain), would be okay & not interfere with one's goals.
Those who should not eat a very low carbohydrate diet or #carnivore:
- Women who are late perimenopausal, post-menopausal, anyone with a Thyroid disorder or suspicious of a Thyroid problem. Anyone who has compromised Adrenal function due to stress or hormonal decline & men who are making too much Estrogen.
Those who should not eat even a healthy Moderate carbohydrate diet:
-Those with sugar & food addictions
-Those who are not going to exercise
-Those with neurological conditions
-Those who haven't cleared up their NAFLD yet
Crohn's disease: curable with a perfectly effectuated PKD. Inflammation markers CRP and ESR on the standard diet with several failed trials of different medications and on the PKD without medicines.

Ketogenic diet was developed to treat epilepsy, not for weight loss. It’s effective for treating psychiatric conditions too. There’s a history of treating psychiatric disorders w/epilepsy drugs. @ChrisPalmerMD explains on the latest Huberman Lab Podcast. https://t.co/TphgkoRZMo
