J’ai ce soir une pensée pour Rima Hassan qui doit choisir entre féliciter la percée des partis arabes dans la seule démocratie du Moyen-Orient et expliquer à ses disciples qu’Israël pratique l’apartheid.
Le dilemme est rude.
« when the patient learns to heal their emotional and psychological trauma, they can tolerate foods again in a variety of forms »
Bro didn’t meet his PCSK9 sales target this quarter so he’s shifting gears into selling crystals
It’s a common phenomenon we see in alternative medicine for a patient to suffer with a chronic illness and then find solace in orthorexic eating patterns.
We see it all the time. Eventually, when the patient learns to heal their emotional and psychological trauma, they can tolerate foods again in a variety of forms.
But a pattern we commonly see in those starting their health journey is to think that their diet is the answer to everything. Be that vegan or keto, macrobiotic or Gerson, carnivore or vegetarian, pescatarian etc. Everyone seems to think their diet is the answer. Then the diet becomes a religion to them and replaces God. It’s interesting that many religions have dietary restrictive patterns. Take for example the Islamic avoidance of pork or The Ramadan fast or the healing power of wine and bread in the form of the Body of Christ during catholic mass.
She was born in Iran and built her life in Afghanistan a woman's rights activist with a voice that frightened the men around her.
So her ex-husband threw acid on her face.
In the hospital, after the surgeries, she sat with her head shaved doctors had taken skin from her scalp to rebuild her face. She was still bandaged, still bleeding, still healing.
But her son was not by her side. He was living with his father. And his father set the condition: if you want to talk to your son, you will do it on a video call so I can see what you've become.
She accepted. She needed to hear her child's voice.
On that call, her ex-husband looked at her destroyed face and smiled. He said: "Look at you. You've become like a monster. You'll never dare go out in public again people will be terrified when they see you. I dare you. I dare you to go out and talk about women's rights."
He thought he had broken her. He thought that face was the end of her.
He was wrong.
Every scar on her face became a sentence in her speech. They took her beauty so she took his fear and turned it into courage. Today she walks in public with her head high, and she speaks about women's rights louder than ever.
He wanted to bury her in shame. Instead, he gave the world a witness.
That is why I invited her to our Freedom gala in Poland to dedicate to her the Medal of Freedom I received. Because she is the symbol of resilience itself: the symbol of every woman whose face was burned but whose voice could not be silenced.
Thank you, Poland for opening your doors, for giving visas to my delegation of women from Iran, Afghanistan, and Cameroon.
We are about to start a global women's rights movement and we will go together, all of us, to the German Parliament very soon.
This time, I invited 10 women. In Berlin, we will invite more dissidents.

Up to a point, protein doesn’t impair ketosis. But at some point, when you try to reacher deeper levels, more protein intake lowers ketones.
It comes down to the acetyl-CoA to oxaloacetate ratio.
Need « high blood ketones » for what? For fat-loss, not necessarily. For epilepsy control, definitely you do.
Addiction is a sociobiological phenomenon:
- your use of the term « identity » speaks to that
- powerful spiritual experiences (near death experiences, psychedelic trips, falling in love etc..) can break an addiction cycle
The biological part? For example, you go keto and you simply « like » or « enjoy » alcohol less
If you lie, and lie in an insulting way to millions of people using your personal story, freely choose to make your life very much public on social media, and then people look into it and put your lies on display - how much empathy do you deserve?
Given attention is a limited resource and empathy requires attention, should our attention be directed towards her or the Congolese entrepreneur who was the target of her lies and disdain?
@StevenQuartz@realDaveFeldman 1. now you're just making things up and avoiding the question. standard practice in your field
2. i'm asking this question so you have to take a position and bear the consequences, which you are clearly too intellectually cowardly to do. as expected
« Dave, I think it’s inappropriate for me to publicly expose your honesty and transparency - please let me continue taking a poop on your head. #pigeonlife#statinnation »
@realDaveFeldman@grok@Drlipid@Cleerlyhealth Dave, I don't think it's appropriate to discuss further details of a vendor's dataset in public. I would be happy to discuss the other issues I raised regarding data management and the validation status of the other datasets.
@StevenQuartz@realDaveFeldman 1) Do you think Cleerly should've run a QC check fully blinded? Please answer yes or no, it really doesn't require anything else
2) Is the data problematic or not? Again, this is yes or no. Take a position, put your balls on one side of the table
