Really interesting! Back when our group investigated in the cardiovascular field, resveratrol (a known SIRT1 activator), Sinclair’s et al. works were our foundation. This 2009 Oberdoerffer study was ahead of its time. The idea that repeated DNA damage causes SIRT1 to abandon its post, triggering epigenetic drift, is such a key mechanism for the Information Theory of Aging. Still influencing the field strongly today. 👏
