A world-first in endurance sport 🌍

American endurance athlete Rob Lea has become the first person ever to complete the Double Seven challenge, combining the Seven Summits - the highest mountain on each continent - with the Oceans Seven, seven of the world's toughest open-water channel swims. He completed the feat by swimming Japan's Tsugaru Strait in 11 hours and 44 minutes.

Lea's journey took 17 years, beginning with Aconcagua in 2009 and ending with his successful Tsugaru Strait crossing after an unsuccessful attempt in 2023. Along the way, he climbed peaks including Everest, Denali and Vinson, and completed marathon swims including the English Channel, Catalina Channel, Molokai Channel and the North Channel.
