Because I don’t trust this place, you can find be elsewhere in a space where we can be. Peace, and do all of the great science and things to make this world better!
@bielleogy I just hate old culturalisms, can I just be me? I did take my partner’s name, but mostly because of the BS hoops to jump through, especially with kiddos
Have an interest in science and technology? If you’re an undergraduate or community college student, you're invited to apply for a paid internship supported by the DOE Office of Science: https://t.co/lKkqZwq2mh
🚨 Conference Alert🚨 With @MarkBlenner and @CarrieEckert4 I'm organising a Keystone Symposia on "Genetic Engineering for a Sustainable Future". We've got a great line up: January 20-23rd 2025, Keystone, CO, USA ⛷ .

@bielleogy I forgot (because I’m literally over scheduled and what is life) how much I love your thought process. I have to stop myself daily from buying things
@GurPines@danalon6@BursteinLab I’m proud of you dealing with all of the adversity and giving all you have, I know that all that are lucky enough to work with you will be better for it!
#SyntheticBiology is making it easier to tinker with previously understudied species. What we learn from them could impove human health and the environment as well as scale up synbio.
🐿️ For my latest in @SynBioBeta, I write on non-model organisms. https://t.co/QQmxJLSOXC
The not too effective way in a first line of an email to get me to engage: “You’ve likely seen my name in your inbox a few times. Because you haven’t responded, I assume that streamlining your R&D isn’t a priority right now.” It’s literally what I’m doing, with my group here
@srikosuri @sporen_weber If we don’t fix the problems in biology (especially keeping plants alive) the others are moot. Biologists can “engineer” too (I majored in life sciences)
I am terrified to even submit papers anymore, so much out there that I see that is suspect. I know I have taught my students and postdocs how to make sure they implement the controls and show the stats, but some of the papers I’ve reviewed recently really make me worry.
