Human Resources is an essential position for all companies all around the world. Although there are many things that can alter how the company does HR (like the factors in the photo) it is still an important position. #HRglobal#MGMT352Ch15@huskymgmt
Unions are slowly becoming less common in today’s world, except for government positions where the numbers have stayed the same. I think that our country is moving in a positive direction, and eventually unions will be rare. #HRunion#MGMT352Ch15@huskymgmt
When it comes to what employees are paid, factors like race, gender, etc. used to play a huge role in the amount given to each employee. This type of discrimination has slowly but surely become less of an issue in the workplace today. #HRpayfairness#MGMT352Ch12@huskymgmt
I think employee pay rates are such an important part of a company. There are specific companies that are known for paying higher rates in specific industries, and those are the jobs that stick out to applicants. #HRpay#MGMT352Ch12@huskymgmt
@tscholtes2@huskymgmt I also agree with this. A lot of people even when deciding a major, take out into consideration as much as they say they didn’t. #HRpay#MGMT352Ch12
@abby_panek I agree with you!! There has always been unfairness when it comes to pay, and it started so long ago. It has slowly gotten better, and I hope it continues to improve as years progress. @huskymgmt#HRpayfairness#MGMT352Ch12
Every step in evaluating employees is so important, whether it is establishing the expectations or monitoring how the employees are performing. #HRperformance#MGMT352Ch10@huskymgmt#2020fall
@kyleharthan1 @huskymgmt I think step 4, evaluating performance, is the most important method! Making sure the employees are up to date with training is so crucial in a company. #HRperformance#MGMT352Ch10
The human resource department at a company plays a really big role in the training and development of the employees. Choosing the right methods and making sure the method you choose is well thought out is super important! @huskymgmt#HRdevelopment#MGMT352Ch7
The most interesting part of this chapter was all the different ways you can train an employee. Learning about which ones are most cost-effective, but also which ones show the best results was cool to me! This picture does a good job laying them out. @huskymgmt#HRtraining
In conclusion, #affirmativeaction was created to help make certain things like the hiring process more equal between all people. Overall, it has negatively impacted our country, and should continue to be banned by more states. #mgmt352debate@huskymgmt#2020fall
@RileyAhern @BCmb9 @huskymgmt#affirmativeaction is just a mindset and does nothing for our country. Yeah legally these employers have to give everyone a chance, but it doesn’t enforce hiring. We need to work towards equality without things like affirmative action pretending to fix it. @huskymgmt#2020fall
@david_husnik@huskymgmt#affirmativeaction actually promotes the idea that there are minority groups, when in reality, we are all equal anyways. If it weren’t for this concept, we wouldn’t need to think of any group as a minority in the first place. #mgmt352debate@huskymgmt
#affirmativeaction was beneficial when it was introduced in the 60’s, but with the world changing constantly, I think we as a country have outgrown this idea. In fact, some states passed constitutional amendments banning public institutions from practicing affirmative action.
Affirmative action hinders reconciliation, undermines the achievements of minorities, and encourages individuals to identify themselves as disadvantaged even if they are not. 10/50 states have banned affirmative action, and I think the rest will follow.
