The backlash may have been part of it, but there will be severe backlash whatever happens. Swansea council began legal proceedings, as will Carmarthenshire Council if and when

@deano_j85 @ospreylian3 @RugbyInGwent My only counter to that is if the culling of one does see the other 3 become more successful (I doubt it, especially within the URC, money wise) then it’s difficult to make the case. Wales + the regions being as poor as they have been recently, makes it far easier to justify

Since the announcement to cut down, it’s been fairly obvious it’s one down the West. And I wasn’t referring to any time period prior to then, so yeah I’m aware of your issues predating it

The backlash didn’t help, but there was always going to be backlash / legal troubles, and leaving the Ospreys without an owner would’ve been the ‘cleanest’ way to do any of this.
