Like water companies, nurseries are increasingly being taken over by large, financialised chains, whose purpose is private profit, not public good.
The government is now doubling its spending on childcare.
#financialisation - a few profit & rest of us pay
Two-thirds of England’s biggest water companies employ executives who previously worked at the watchdog tasked with regulating them,
Govt does nothing about it
Corporate capture = high bills, sewage in rivers, puny fines, profiteering, fat-cattery.

"Meet the water boss whose pay has soared 700%".
Ask yourself this, when did you last get a pay rise, did it look anything like 700%?

Correction: The UK *should* have been one of the best placed countries in the world for responding to a pandemic, but unfortunately we had a bunch of incompetent and morally corrupt charlatans running the entire shitshow.
I joined @pinkfloyd to raise money for charity last year. I’m aware some Floyd fans struggled with this release so here is my penny’s worth…
I played keyboards on Hey Hey Rise Up and felt honoured to do so, as a Pink Floyd fan virtually all my life. When David Gilmour called me he asked how I would feel to join Pink Floyd and I said “you’re such an unsuccessful band, I don’t know…” In all seriousness, when he explained he wanted to raise money for a nation under attack, especially since Putin was literally threatening to use nuclear weapons at the time, I felt greatly honoured. I obviously did not believe I was literally joining Pink Floyd in playing keyboards on a charity single… I did, however, believe in what they were doing and it was a genuinely incredible and humbling experience for me to be in the same room and record on the same track as these legends. David calls it a Floyd track so I guess it is as he retains the rights as far as I’m aware. Remember, a band name is just a name. Don’t get too hung up on it. These are good people and incredible musicians doing something positive on a track that went to number one in 29 different countries and raised a fortune in sales… We all did it for no money. I was privileged to be part of it and make no apologies for pedants who worry it interfered with their idea of what PF is. It’s Gilmour, Mason and Pratt, for God’s sake. They’re brilliant and gave so much incredible music to all of us. #PinkFloyd
No Mordaunt. We vote for MPs to represent us because that's the system.
They are not any more "honourable" than any other member of the public. It's their job....for which they get paid handsomely.
The hundreds of Tory MPs who abstained (& who weren't "paired") WERE cowards, putting the Tory party ahead of voters.
They abstained from voting on the Privileges Committee report condemning a Prime Minister Boris Johnson on lying to Parliament about partying multiple times when forcing the voters to stay in their houses, miss funerals, leaving the lonely alone in their own hell. Mordaunt trying to gaslight us here, criticising the millions of us for having an opinion!

2/6 What is a CQUIN?
The Commissioning for Quality and Innovation @NHSEngland framework supports improvements in the quality of services & the creation of new, improved patterns of care. Each year providers are asked to improve practice in relation to set standards.
1/6 Zero to hero!
Yesterday’s local hero was the Early Inflammatory Arthritis team who showed how to use audit data to improve services.
Today it's about using NHS England’s CQUIN scheme to do the same. @barnshosp @bobkirton @McdonnellSheena@TRFTCEO
I’m gonna say the unsayable. My kids still had access to swings and slides. We have them in our garden because we’re upper middle class. This explains why so many people didn’t care about closing playgrounds. That’s the truth. It broke my heart then and still does now.
