This whole "blame the boomers" narrative is getting old.
If the people you're complaining about are 46–61 years old, most of them aren't boomers. They're Gen X.
And honestly, Gen X is exhausted from hearing the same complaints on repeat.
We didn't get free college. Most of us never had guaranteed pensions. Housing wasn't magically cheap when adjusted for inflation, and plenty of us spent decades working, sacrificing, and starting from scratch.
Every generation faces its own challenges. Ours did too.
The difference is that we were taught that life isn't fair, nobody is coming to rescue you, and success usually comes from adapting, working, and pushing forward when things don't go your way.
You don't have to like that message, but constantly looking for someone else to blame won't improve your situation.
At some point, personal responsibility matters more than finding a new generation to be angry at.

@AnnieJacobsen Annie: using your book as a reference, can you hypothesize travel routes, airports and how patient zero may have already infected an exponentially growing number.
@AnnieJacobsen Hey Annie. Love your books. I reread the nuclear war scenario 3x. Just finished this one. Horrifying all the more so because of who real the danger is.
“Besides, what bad, un-conservative things could Democrats do? I mean, are they going to start another forever war in the Middle East? Start socializing industries? Raise the national debt to $40 trillion? Cause abortion rates to rise? Increase the cost of groceries and gas? Pal around with socialists (like Zohran Mamdani)? Suck up to communists (like Chinese President Xi Jinping)? Nominate a bunch of weirdos, drunks and inexperienced hacks to the Cabinet? Pursue self-enrichment? Start building monuments to themselves? Threaten to use the power of government on their opponents?”
FUN FACT: We are paying more money for worse versions of ALMOST everything because private equity firms buy up beloved brands, cut product quality to the bone, hike prices to squeeze out margins, and leave a trail of debt-ridden husks behind.
We know that Putin recently once again promised representatives of the American President that he would seize our Donetsk region. He said he needs just a few more months…
This is probably the 17th or 18th time in 5 years that he has made this promise. It is always the same: “Just a few more months”…
And then he moves the deadline again. Putin will fail this time too.
