Will Amazon's supply chain announcement roil ecommerce fulfillment?
I'm hearing two very different things from the markets.
On the one hand, many CEOs of ecommerce fulfillment companies are bullish about 2026, and continuing to grow rapidly and profitably.
On the other hand, many PE firms are spooked by Amazon's announcement. Some are worried that fulfillment companies dependent on $AMZN could be obsolete. And others are worried that even fulfillment companies totally independent of Amazon could still be materially harmed.
Who do you think is right? And if you are an ecommerce fulfillment executive, what are you doing differently to ensure your long-term growth remains strong?
Is US maritime logistics poised for growth?
TMV, @Prologis and the American Bureau of Shipping think so. And they are investing $200M behind this thesis.
Wishing Marina Hadjipateras, Soraya Darabi, William O'Donnell and the team success in strengthening American maritime supply chains and creating value!

Good news for electric trucks in California! Particularly relevant for companies like Nevoya, @einrideofficial and @Tesla, as well as Fortune 500 companies that want to reduce their carbon footprint.

Congrats to @USPS on hiring Matthew Connelly as Chief Strategy Officer. I've known Matt for several years. He is a high-integrity leader who not only played a senior leadership role at @UPS, but also built Good360 into the global leader in project philanthropy and purposeful giving via sourcing and supply chain capabilities. Great move for all!

The Logistics Managers' Index is soaring. April reflected the fastest level of expansion since March 2022. Expect a year of supply chain growth and volatility!

Is the great freight recession over? $RXO just announced quarterly results. Grounds for optimism: "TL volume improved every month in Q1 and gross profit per load increased by 9% q/q." Here's the full earnings presentation.

That said, I think the market is overreacting. Should $CHRW really be down 14%? And similar market shocks hammering GXO, XPO and others? Seems like last month's Karaoke machine flash crash.
Introducing @Amazon Supply Chain Services!
Think of this as the largest startup in the history of supply chain. Amazon has spent two decades building the world's largest third party logistics provider, generating $172 billion in 2025. For comparison, this is nearly 5 times bigger than the second-largest 3PL, DSV. And ten years ago, Amazon logistics wasn't even in the top 10.
What's new is the rollout. Until now, Amazon used its transportation infrastructure for its own retail operations and marketplace sellers. Now, with ASCS, Amazon is rolling out its internal solutions for external customers.
Early adopters include Procter & Gamble, 3M, Lands' End, and American Eagle Outfitters Inc.
What will the ripple effects be for freight forwarders, parcel delivery, and other providers?

Reverse logistics is hotter than ever. Returns is an $850B market. And now @Uber is entering the market.
As a consumer, you can go into the app, select “return an item,” provide a reason for your return, and choose “return with a courier.” They are partnering with retailers like Best Buy, DICK'S Sporting Goods, PACSUN and Petco. And this is just the beginning.
Every major brand, retailer and logistics company should have a reverse logistics strategy. At @CambCapital we chose @ReverseLogix because of their end-to-end returns management capability to power warehouses, workflow, and labor processes.
What's your returns plan?

Trump on filing for tariff refunds: “If they don’t do that, I’ll remember them."
If you are a major US company, should you refrain from filing? And if you don't file, will you find yourself at risk of shareholder lawsuits?
Now is a good time to turn to your trusted logistics partners!

Congrats to Metro Supply Chain on their sale to NX GROUP. NX paid close to $1.3B (USD) to gain an extensive warehouse-based supply chain network focused on Canada and the US.
Expect to see more cross border M&A in 2026!

Returns is a $750 billion market. @UPS is achieving profitable growth through its Happy Returns division. 79% of the US population now lives within 5 miles of a UPS/Happy Returns facility. Meanwhile, other reverse logistics companies are achieving success with different business models. @reverselogix is giving brands, retailers and 3PLs a true end-to-end Returns Management System.
Every brand, retailer and 3PL should have a returns strategy!

Congrats to Parade on its sale to Mudflap. Consolidation in supply chain software is accelerating!
We are seeing smart companies combine adjacent capabilities, e.g. Mudflap's fintech for carriers with Parade's broker-facing capacity management.
We will see a smaller number of bigger winners in the coming year.
