The devastating earthquake that struck Afghanistan late Sunday has left more than 1,000 people dead, many more injured & countless missing beneath the rubble.

This tragedy hit communities that have already endured severe hardship due to the past decades of armed conflict.

Yesterday, our teams delivered urgent medical supplies to support Dohuk Hospital in responding to the influx of wounded from Parakh village. Additional supplies will be sent today to Zakho.
The ICRC will continue its humanitarian efforts to help those affected by this emergency.

In addition to physical rehabilitation treatment; the centre helps people with disabilities in their inclusion journey within the society.

Service users are provided economic grants to start small businesses, vocational trainings, and mental health and psychological support.

Today, we opened the largest Physical Rehabilitation Centre in Iraq.

The center is equipped to serve 6,000 people including internally displaced persons and refugees mainly from Syria.
