Huge applause to @DANIELPEMBERTON , whose music plus Brian May’s guitar really set the tone for the whole movie— a dynamic, driving energy that really delivered key scenes. And Jared Leto channels his previous performance as the Hatbox Ghost to be the scene-stealing Skeletor.
I can't authoritatively speak on #MotU until I see it tomorrow with the family but here are facts:
D&D and #TransformersOne were tanked by PR and review "influencers"
Both @RollingStone and @jondelarroz are telling their respective oppositional audiences to avoid the movie.
Critical Drinker Responds To Claim He-Man ‘Mocks the Source Material’
"The fact is, though, all of those perspectives are wrong, and you shouldn't listen to any of them. You should listen to me." -The Critical Drinker
Masters of the Universe has officially flopped at the box office.
The $170M-plus He-Man reboot opened with just $31.1M domestically, landing at the bottom of expectations and below the warnings.
The previews already pointed to trouble. The full weekend confirmed it.
‘Masters of the Universe’ Is He-Mansplaining at Its Worst
This attempt to make 'Barbie' for Eighties-nostalgia–loving dudes is not a movie. It is extremely bad brand management.

How about you combine "The Demon With A Glass Hand" about a 'man' sent back in time that will save the human race and "Soldier" about a future war/warrior ends up in modern day bringing his war with him, both by Harlan Ellison you could call it--
Shadiversity on Masters of the Universe: "This film CELEBRATES masculinity. Skeletor is a classic unrepentant villain. Man-At-Arms says 'Poets don't save people,' 'You win with muscle,' 'Protecting and saving your family is what a man does.' This film is BRILLIANT."
Tom Connors of Midnight's Edge: "It's one big fat meme. He-Man is a fool and a bimbo soy boy. They turned it into a big gay allegory. This is a f---ing Taika Waititi movie. They gave us Barbie 2."
Director Travis Knight told Empire in February: "Skeletor's kind of the embodiment of toxic masculinity."
The film is tracking toward a $25-30 million opening on a $200 million budget.
