@brucelowkey@PFF_William@FredGarvinReal Dude. MMA and the UFC have been around for a long time. It's already plateaued and the UFC is doing less and less to promote it globally. Look at the number of events overseas compared to before COVID. They do well financially by being cheap.
@TigerElephant@davemeltzerWON@lthomasnews I mean it's not a great sign when your biggest market has pretty lackluster numbers. Especially for an event that's explicitly to celebrate the US.
@JeffPaine197714@ChrisMWilliams But they don't drive huge economic benefits. People will still fly through Chicago and a lot will stay in hotels in IL.
@ll262588@reesetheone1 I don't like either move but the Chiefs are moving to an affluent area that would be closer to the Bears moving to Arlington Heights. Hammond sucks.
@AntonTwerkovitz@PaulSkallas@OpenNoteGrapple I don't entirely disagree but there are only two champions currently from that region. Also, Khabib was a big star that put on great fights. His dominance was entertaining and people tuned in. To me it feels like the UFC has no interest in promoting anything.
@MMAdamMartin As a longtime fan, I just think the juice is gone and I'm not alone feeling that. The promotion and matchmakers clearly don't care like they used to.
@chrisbriem We ended up buying in Dormont and paid less than asking, but most of the houses we considered in the city went for less too. We were looking at Highland Park, Morningside, Regent Square, and Squirrel Hill. Lots of inventory sat for weeks/months too.
@dneighbors@venturetwins These are very different examples from what she's describing. You're talking about entertainment media for end consumers, she's talking about enterprises that rely on their software working correctly.
