Launching the optimal airdrop campaign.

Here's how I imagine it:

✦ Mission: Reward early adopters, keep users hooked, and attract new users.

Current airdrops fail to encourage commitment. Token farmers and sybils cash out and vanish. Mission failed.

Here are the criteria airdrops could consider based on current best practices. Each criterion acts as a multiplier for higher allocation.

✦ Rewarding early adopters:

• Bigger deposit = bigger allocation. Whales matter.

• Skill-based boost: Platforms like @blackwing_fi DEX let you trade points. Higher PnL = bigger allocation. Plus, users learn the platform.

• Content creators rewarded: scan X, blogs, newsletters—give allocation to those who grow the protocol’s mindshare. E.g. @AvailProject did this.

• Frequency boost: More transactions = higher allocation.

• Consider usage of other protocols: Real DeFi users use multiple protocols. Sybils don't.

• (Optional) Make campaign unique with gamified experience: E.g. @sanctumso Wonderland with pets and cupcakes for referrals

✦ Keeping users post-airdrop:

• Vest airdrops (especially for whales) to also reduce dumping.

• Offer an initial airdrop but give a boost through continued platform use. Think Magiceden diamonds.

• Plan multiple airdrop seasons, like Bitcoin halving with reduced allocation.

• Offer allocation boosts for future seasons when locking tokens, e.g., @KaminoFinance $KMNO staking.

✦ Attract new users

• Convert competitor protocol users: Incentivize them to switch by unlocking allocations for using the platform.

• Airdrop to DeFi power users: Engage governance participants and stakers from other DAOs.

• Award builders and devs: Based on contributions on Github. Reward ETH solo stakers.

• Reward NFT holders: Boosts project awareness & sybils don't hold expensive NFTs.

I wanted to share the "perfect airdrop campaign."

Yet no airdrop is flawless, and a criteria-based system can be risky if insiders know the rules. Team integrity is key.

Finally, I agree with @gluk64: "go bold and do something unexpected."

We need bold new methods for airdrop distribution. Sure, some might be unhappy, but it's time to reset expectations with more experimentation.

베라체인 유동성 증명(PoL, Proof-of-Liquidity), 이번엔 정말 다를까 - @berachain

저는 되게 레이어 1을 좋아합니다. 수많은 섹터에 정말 많은 프로토콜이 생겨나고 있지만, 결국 가장 큰 수혜를 받는 건 해당 프로토콜이 온보딩되는 레이어 1이고 트렌드가 정말 빠르게 변화하지만 레이어 1은 굳건하게 자리를 지키고 있기에 솔라나, 앱토스, 톤 등 레이어 1을 위주로 팔로우를 많이 해왔습니다.

최근에 기대감을 많이 받고 있는 레이어 1을 꼽으라면 고민하지 않고 베라체인, 모나드를 선택할 것 같은데 아직 베일에 많이 쌓여있는 모나드와 다르게 베라체인은 테스트넷도 가동 중이고 최근 유동성 증명 개념에 대한 콘텐츠들이 계속해서 나오고 있습니다.

기존 레이어 1은 네이티브 토큰(솔라나, 이더리움 등)과 프로토콜(디파이, 게이밍 등) 간의 협업 메커니즘이 전혀 존재하지 않았습니다. 즉 레이어에서 발생하는 네이티브 수익(지분 증명의 경우 스테이킹 인플레이션)을 프로토콜이 가져갈 수 있는 방법이 전혀 없었습니다. 간접적으로나마 이 수익을 가져갈 수 있는 방법은 유동성 스테이킹이나 리스테이킹으로 스테이킹 수익을 토큰 등 프로토콜에 녹아내면서 가치를 상승시키거나 이걸 다시 이용해서 사용하는 방법인데 이건 그나마 스테이킹 프로토콜만 사용 가능한 방법이고 AMM DEX는 디파이임에도 불구하고 해당 수익을 활용할 수 있는 방법이 크게 제한적이며, DePIN이나 게이밍 섹터라면 접근조차 불가능합니다.

결국엔 네이티브 수익은 밸리데이터가 전부 가져가고 프로토콜은 자체적인 토큰 모델을 통해 살아남아야 하는 구조가 계속해서 이어지고 있는데 이 구조 때문에 의미 없는 토큰 발행이 계속되고 결국 덤핑으로 이어지는 악순환이 계속되는 것 같습니다.

베라체인은 삼중 토큰 모델( $BGT, $BERA, $HONEY)를 활용하는데 $BGT 토큰이 가장 핵심이라고 볼 수 있습니다. $BGT 토큰을 얻기 위해서는 네트워크에 유동성을 공급하고 프로토콜을 사용해야 하며, 밸리데이터는 사용자로부터 $BGT 토큰을 위임받지만 여기서 발생하는 수익을 다시금 사용자와 프로토콜에 분배하야 하는 의무를 가집니다.

이 메커니즘 때문에 밸리데이터는 더 많은 사용자에게 $BGT 토큰을 위임받기 위해선 프로토콜과 협력하여 더 많은 인센티브를 줄 수 있는 모델을 고안해야 하고 이는 결국에 사용자, 프로토콜, 밸리데이터 간의 협업을 이끌어내는 요소가 됩니다.

베라체인은 아키텍처 단에서 서로의 협업을 이끌어내는 요소를 도입한 최초의 블록체인으로 다른 레이어 1과는 상당히 다른 모습을 보이고 있습니다.

테스트넷 단계인 지금은 아직 네트워크가 많이 불안정하고 타 블록체인에서 볼 수 있었던 기본적인 기능을 가진 애플리케이션만 보이지만 V2 업데이트 이후, 메인넷 런칭 이후에 어떤 색다른 모습을 보여줄지 상당히 기대됩니다.
