Day 5 after dam break which flooded 40% of Maiduguri, Nigeria: Government is distributing UNICEF’s 2000 cholera kits in Bakassi Camp hosting ~ 20,000 IDPs. This is thanks to contingency stocks procured in early 2024 to be ready to support government in sudden-onset emergencies.

Homes remain submerged in Anambra State. @UNICEF_Nigeria has facilitated immunization services for displaced people, and focuses on the restoration of basic services in support of the Government, such as sanitation facilities in schools and access to healthcare services.
