@Rurouni_Phoenix The difference is the claim that's being responded too.
Have you ever heard a Christian argued "X book of the Bible was written Y way therefore it's divine"? No. But you do see Muslims make that argument.
@PTGuy88@luvmyjaide Yes it is.
Sex is literally the act of procreating. What's next? I didn't consent to being fat when I consent to eating junk food every day?
@nick_matau So just to be clear. You're saying the prophets of old like Abraham (who saw Christ's day and ate with Christ) and Moses (who spoke with Christ) and king David (who spoke of Christ) aren't followers of Christ?
@USATrackAIPAC Out of curiosity for your second point. Would you say the same for Mormons, Jehovah witnesses or even Muslims? I'm sure you'd agree there are sincere believers in their religion as well.
By this logic. Would you say they're fine to remain in their beliefs?
@korrathetaymi That actually doesn't answer the question. All it did was made it go back a step.
Why Jesus over any of the other prophets? In fact why didn't he have Muhammad had a virgin birth instead?
@Shakky151@ArthropAscen@Kaito_Da_Wolf That's the thing. To say something immoral can be allowed as long as it is deemed "necessary" (which is quite arbitrary when you think of it) then you would allow other types of dangers.
Rape would be a prime example of why that would be a dangerous thought to have.
@Raudrofur@HMBohemond That. That it is wrong to have sex with roadkill. If anything it could be argued maybe that is what makes us human. How would you say it isn't from the "I think therefore I am"?
@Raudrofur@HMBohemond This part here is getting to the right step. As you are pointing out a foundation however it does have its problem. Like for example the "I think therefore I am" is already presupposing more than it's letting on.
But of course even if accepting its right. It doesn't follow from
@Raudrofur@HMBohemond it isn't religion that gives us morality, it is God who is believed to have existed before the world was. So appealing to a time before a certain religion doesn't actually work since the belief is the God of that religion has always existed and created us.
@OpenUpToLoveN@HMBohemond So just to be clear. You're saying it isn't immoral in itself that the guy fucks roadkill. But the guy is immoral?
How did you determine that if the act of fucking roadkill isn't immoral?
