Covering "Imposter Syndrome" in my "Careers in Cognitive Science Class". When I asked "Who's heard of imposter syndrome?" Everyone had... actually not everyone NONE of the men had (!?!?!)
Playing that game where I spend hours looking for a write up or presentation where I report a calculation previously because I just can't face opening up the raw data again...
Review of semester 2 with no official attendance policy.
Class attendance was generally about 50% (not great, but also not worse than when I had a policy)
Folks who came to class got A's. Folks who didn't... didn't.
Still calling this a success.
@wavyphd Well, I'm normally oblivious, too- this guy's just pretty open about it (like active eyerolling and sarcastic comments). I try to keep my witty repartees to a minimum, but there's only so much I can do 😂Glad this hasn't happened to you!
What do you do when a student shows clear disdain for you and you're doing your best not to show clear disdain back... but also you're one of those folks whose feelings are quite obvious on your face...? (asking for a friend...)
@wavyphd I saw this the other day as well and find it totally shocking. Apart from the fact that it shouldn't matter and it's completely none of my business to comment, how on earth should I know? I interact with this person in exactly one context and am completely unqualified to comment.
Any of my pals who speak Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, Turkish, Irish, or Tagalog wanna be in one of @wavyphd's videos? You will be famous! @MYarkinErgin@najoungkim
Twitter friends! Are there any Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, Turkish, Irish, or Tagalog speakers who would like to appear in my new YouTube video?
Send me a DM!
@wavyphd 100% @wavyphd. I took "language development" for fun in my last year as an undergrad, but even if it weren't a huge part of my life now, I would still be glad I'd taken it. Knowledge is worth more than what it earns you.

Quick Ling poll for folks *from MS/AL/LA* USA. Which of these have your heard or could you imagine people saying? Indicate in comments where you're from. I have my thoughts, but I'm having doubts. Say it in the accent you'd hear it in before you decide whether it's good:
Writing up my attendance policy and - at the recommendation of a friend - will be reading this poem on the first day of class to illustrate: https://t.co/77BmIg1qOz
