@nora_lehmann @Jonathan_Maus@joanbybike@PBOTinfo @curbflow I wasn’t involved in the conversation at all when it was planned but I think it came down to maintaining the left turns currently allowed. The process was difficult, @Jonathan_Maus wrote quite a bit about it at the time.
@joanbybike This is something that I tried to work very hard on with PBOT staff. I ran into a dead end because “someone else” works on loading zones. This should have been addressed when the street was reconfigured, not afterwards to fix the problems, right? Photos of recent examples.
@BIKABOUT Could be that all those parents are lying! It’s an easy excuse to make and one that few will push back on. It is at times totally valid but my guess is that it’s often just habit.
@BikePortland@maxedoutmemes Plenty of hope that the block between 4th and 5th will be car-free when the building on the north is replaced. It’s not long for the world. My big hope has always been the block between Park and 10th in front of the Vue apartment building. One day!
@joanbybike @CLeonard46 @enobacon I hope you’re right and that Director Warner is genuine with this engagement and doesn’t make this group of folks feel the way that I felt as a member.
@joanbybike @CLeonard46 @enobacon I see your point. I guess I took it as the director asking for guidance on what the bureau needs to do to engage but the committee historically has been ignored when it gives that advice.
