I've been working on the new @awscloud cost compare functionality for several days now. You can see
- month-to-month
- or day-to-day
details of costs by Region -> Service -> Usage Type.
It's almost ready to be released. #finops#CloudComputing
Great to see @Werner highlighting how @PBS reduced their streaming costs by 80%.
PBS has been a @JoinVantage customer for years - glad they're getting some well-deserved attention on their cost-related efforts!
This is BIG and a super helpful feature from @dynamodb🚀
It eliminates the need for any custom solution that relies on streams and adds no-code #Serverless integration between #AWS services. Brilliant🙌
#reInvent season is well and truly underway!

YES. *THANK* you! They exposed access to a freaking Microsoft Signing Key, and I don’t think anyone outside of the industry really grasps just how terrifying that really is.
Watch out for a single Usage Type "Storage-ShardHour" in your billing.
It means you're not actively using provisioned resources, and thus there is a waste in your account.
Let me know in the comments what you think about it.

Here is a real case of abandoned Provisoned Kinesis Data Streams resources.
Someone just forgot about it. Costs accumulated to 446 USD over a year.
Not much?
Yes, but that was just a single Account and 3 shards.
Over 12 000 EC2 instances!
This is craaazzy.
All of them are loaded into CloudPouch, with CPU, RAM and Transfer metrics.
