I don't know who @BobFrank35 is in real life... but if you like baseball and appreciate someone with good baseball twitter comments, please give him a follow, and enjoy.
@TJStats@lukesmailes4 The whole point of player development is to develop players to win...
Seems like Oklahoma developed this kids arm and mind to be strong enough to go 50 pitches in the CWS finals.
@GoGoGolson@TheHitLabLLC When I use that phrase, it means hands going before your hips, so you end up chopping at the ball and losing contact point, ability to drive the ball into the gap, and ability to go the other way.
@TheHitLabLLC Yesssss I see it very clearly in the Manny video, I love the visuals! that makes way more sense to me now. I feel like that's a great cue for kids who may be getting "pushy" as well? Is that when you'll most commonly use that cue?
The number of people who became a fan of Bill Miller simply because they now know how much he cares about his job and getting it right makes this slip worth it. Great hot mic moment for umpires.
If you're going to complain/reply to a tweet about stats on April 19.. I feel like it's fair to share that on April 20th in 2008 you were hitting .125 with a .363 OPS
Same with Mr. Frye hitting .162 with a .373 OPS on May 13th of 2000
When you complain about the game all the time, all you're doing is just that.. complaining. Errors have been around forever, K's, HR's, bat flips, one knee down catching, bad batting averages.
Sometimes we don't remember the lows of baseball since it's such a marathon season year after year. As you know, it's a very difficult sport, and making it seem worse than it is with one low-light or bad game from this generation isn't the answer to showing people how great a game it really is. A game of resilience and determination. Right now there's data and people are doing their best to use it. Are they right? Who knows
You had a great career, better than most. But it's hard for anybody younger than you to resonate with your tweets when most of what you do is bash the current players and game.
There's so much fun and excitement in todays game, yesterdays game, the 10's, 2000's, 90's and so on. Is there any way you can find a way to see that and maybe focus on the positives of todays game?
It's not the exact brand of baseball as when you played, and that's fair that it can be frustrating.. But nothing's ever the same forever, things change, evolve and people do their best to succeed with what they have and hope they have the ability to adapt if what they're doing is wrong.
I'll end with this - I respect your talent, career, work ethic, time you put in to the game, attitude towards not K'ing and more. I just disagree with all the negativity towards the game today.
Arguments that a competent batter should be able to successfully sacrifice bunt at a high clip (80% success rate?) are based on zero data and passed on from guys who like to be angry and wrong all the time.
Not me!!! I didn't come up with this. But if you're gonna sit there and tell me a guy who did drugs and didn't workout could throw 103-105 "because the guns were slow" and provide ZERO evidence, I'm gonna call you out until you show me some proof of stats, or video or something I can see with my eyes
