Attn PE Teachers 🚨
Try this -
On the last week of school send 4 kids every 5 minutes to their favorite English or Math teacher and have them say "Can I hang out here, my PE teacher said it was ok since we're not doing anything".
Good times 🤣🤣
People have learned by writing for centuries.
Being a “pen to paper” classroom helps combat the use of Ai, google searches, copy & pasting. Is it perfect? No, but it’s better than the alternative.
Classroom sizes need to return to “Pre-Covid” #’s to truly make this effective!
No, it’s not the two, 25-30 minute weight room sessions a week where athletes encounter force in a controlled environment hurting your volleyball player’s back.
It’s the:
-10+ hours a week of practice with bad mechanics on bad surfaces
-Random running
-No days off mentality
-Lack of nutrition and sleep to facilitate recovery
But go on and get that 2 weeks no weight room full go on court note as the injury carousel takes another turn.
Research has found that sitting close to a high performer improved performance by 15%. Sitting close to a low performer decreased performance by 30%.
Surround yourself wisely!
when i was 14, i played on a pretty good travel baseball team. we had a kid who was the best player i've ever played with and he was routinely the best player at every tourney we went to - it was almost unfair
he only played D3
just let your kid have fun because D1 is unlikely
My high school coach had a simple but profound rule:
No matter what happened—win or loss, joy or disappointment—the next day, you get back to work.
We called it the 24-hour rule.
You had 24 hours to feel it all. Then it was time to move forward.
It wasn’t about ignoring emotion. It was about giving it a boundary.
If you’re a high school athlete who actually wants to play in college — here’s how much time you really have:
Freshmen — 1,350 days left
Sophomores — 1,000 days left
Juniors — 600 days left
Seniors — 250 days left
That’s it.
Every day you skip lifts… every rep you coast through… every night you choose Xbox over sleep…
You’re burning days off that clock.
No one is waiting for you. No one is giving you extra time.
Build your floor. Chase your ceiling.
re:Phone bans
"But parents might need to contact their kids during the school day!"
They can. Call the office.
If it's not worth that effort, they probably don't really need to contact them
We can't base school policies on the desires of the most anxious and neurotic parents
I have been coaching for a while now, and I have yet to meet an athlete who regrets showing up and working hard during their 4 years in HS. However, the number of athletes who regret not showing up and not working hard is endless.
Choose discipline or choose regret. 🤷♂️
Talent may get you noticed.
Preparation is what keeps you standing when the pressure comes.
The teams that prepare well don't flinch when it matters most.
People that prepare well don't flinch when it matters.
Don't flinch. Prepare now.
Don’t let one bad🍎ruin the bunch. Like laziness, ignorance, excuses & immaturity are contagious - but so is Success. If you find it, catch it - encourage it, reward it, harness it and✖️it! You’ll quickly begin to weed out the bad🍏s one way or another
Texans showed up in force at the Texas Capitol today to stop Greg Abbott’s voucher scam.
71% OPPOSE the bill.
Public school parents and teachers packed the committee room — but the billionaires pushing this scam stayed home.
