The Black Coaches Association proudly congratulates both NBA Finals head coaches, Mike Brown and Mitch Johnson.

History will be made as two Black head coaches meet on basketball’s biggest stage in the 2026 NBA Finals.

This opportunity has only happened a handful of times in NBA history, making this moment even more significant for the game and for the next generation of coaches who aspire to lead at the highest level.

No matter the outcome, one thing is certain:

A Black head coach will be crowned NBA Champion.

Out of an abundance of caution due to threats of severe weather, all Pell City Schools will dismiss early at 2:00 p.m. today.

In partnership with the St. Clair County EMA, we have been closely monitoring weather conditions. This decision was made with the safety of our students, families, and staff as our top priority.

Bus riders will be transported home on their respective buses at the early dismissal time. All other students should be picked up at 2:00 p.m. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Also, please note that tonight's Senior Awards Banquet has been postponed. We will share rescheduling information as soon as it is available.
