I fast because Jesus said "when you fast" suggesting His followers would follow His example. The Bible shows fasts from 1 to 40 days. I've participated often and at different lengths. One observation is that after day 3 it seems like smooth sailing. The biggest benefit to me is the closeness to Christ I experience.
6 hits. 3 hits to load the bases, #4 hitter singles to outfield with runner thrown out at home. This is not scored as a fielder's choice in the sense that denies the batter a hit. It's a base hit, with the out recorded "on the throw." Repeat with #5 and #6, who could actually hit the runner. Either way 6 hits. I had to look it up in Grok.
A powerful benefit of fasting we see in Daniel’s life? God repeatedly affirms him as “greatly loved” — even in the middle of trials. Have you noticed that revelation of love when fasting?
Daniel fasted & prayed, and heaven responded with love + revelation. Daniel 9:23 “At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision.”
Daniel 10:11 “O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you...”
Daniel 10:19 “O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.”
Fasting humbled Daniel, aligned his heart with God, and unlocked wisdom, visions, angelic help — and even protection in the lions’ den. Same God today!

@NFL_DovKleiman I think our QB needs some heart work. Luke 6:45... Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. James 3:9-12 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
@Melissa91090444@TraceTrue3@WellsJorda89710 I don't hate her. I have children. If I discipline them is that hate? Paula is a child of God. God speaks of His qualifications for ministry leaders and she fails on a couple items. That doesn't make her a bad person. This is why there is church discipline.
The Bible does speak that we are to judge. 1 Cor 5:12-13 is the passage: "What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside." Paula is not an outsider, therefore her choices can be judged in light of the Bible.
@Melissa91090444@TraceTrue3@WellsJorda89710 How about his overseeing the matyrdom of Stephen in Acts 7:57-58 Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul. Or Acts 8:1
And Saul approved of their killing him. I'm saying Paula is fine as a Christian, just unfit for leadership per the Bible.
@Melissa91090444@TraceTrue3@WellsJorda89710 True she was first. But she wasn't in a ministry position and repeatedly divorced. 1 Tim 3 speaks to being faithful in marriage and not a lover of money. She fails both tests.
Jimmy Darts walks up to a pastor and tells him he hasn’t eaten in days and is really struggling.
The pastor immediately stops everything, prays over him with total sincerity, offers food and shelter, and shows genuine kindness — no questions asked.
Then Jimmy drops the twist: it was all a test of character.
He hands the pastor $500 cash on the spot.
But the surprises aren’t over yet… because Christian singer Phil Wickham walks up and adds another $5,000.
Who do you think showed the greatest act of kindness here — the pastor, Jimmy, or Phil Wickham?
I’m going with the pastor ❤️
