They did not - as the headline implies - go to prison BECAUSE they survived domestic abuse. They went to prison because - like make criminals - they broke the law
Another example showing empathy for abused female criminals while abuse experienced by male criminals is ignored
@Veranderlant@TheJoeySwoll Yes, good for her for doing what 99.99% of the women on this planet can do, and will be eventually something we can do in a lab. Truly a great and wonderful thing >_>
More and more kind talk, nice words, and well meaning people are entering the #malesuicide prevention space.
It’s “good to talk”, we all hear.
Or at least, it’s good to be seen talking about men; with such a noble pursuit becoming the latest cash cow to be milked by an army of woke masculinity advocates, virtuous celebrity influencers, and your local guardian of morality, who (for the right price) will wring their hands, preach from pulpits, and gurgle superlatives, like it’s going out of style.
Yes.
Today, telling men “to talk” is big business.
But sadly, listening to what men are saying, is a dying art that fewer and fewer seem capable of.
So, like a broken record, we tell men to talk…
But when it comes to listening to men who are victims of violence... or hearing the horrors of boys who are abused... or acknowledging the structural struggles of men, you’ll find yourself alone.
And so, suddenly, those who pleaded with men to talk; who launched careers, signed brand deals, and lined their pockets by encouraging men’s emotional eloquence... they lose their voice themselves.
Too many times I see this.
People routinely put their personal comfort, and their political and career ambitions ahead of the men and boys whom they claim to advocate for.
Too many times I hear the right words being said.
But when the chips are down and the heat is on, those who bang the drum so passionately for men, are usually the first to jump ship when the real work begins.
So are you tired of it too?
And why is everyone telling men to talk, when nobody is willing to listen to what they’ve got to say?
What do you think?

The most ridiculous claim today:
Henry Olsen: "Europeans typically do not understand how deeply Americans of all parties care about free elections and democracy."
Give us a break! The US, especially the GOP, is not very democratic:
1. As a US citizen, you are not automatically entitled to vote in US elections but have to register. The GOP has disqualified millions of legitimate voters on voter rolls.
2. US citizens in DC & Puerto Rico are not represented in Congress.
3. The US pursues massive gerrymandering. Only about 40 out of 435 constituencies are competitive in House elections.
4. Since the SCOTUS verdict Citizens United in 2010, unlimited amounts of dark money are allowed & hundreds of million are used. US elections are to a large extent bought.
5. The Trump billionaires have bought most of US news media & lie without legal limits.
6. Various US bodies have banned at least 23,000 books for mentioning such things as slavery in the US.
7. The US has allowed a convicted felon to be elected president.
8. SCOTUS has given Trump legal immunity.
9. Trump is one of the most corrupt leader in the world the captive US legal system does nothing to check his personal enrichment.

🚨 BREAKING: Another military fiasco for Russia. African rebels strike Russian-backed forces
A group of Russian servicemen has reportedly been captured in Mali. According to local Telegram channels and Sputnik, the Russian embassy is evacuating personnel and negotiating the release of the captives, seeking guarantees for a safe withdrawal through Gao Airport.
Russia's setbacks in Mali began back in April, when Tuareg rebels and Islamist militants launched a coordinated offensive. The so-called government forces — in reality, units of the military junta that seized power several years ago — found themselves under heavy pressure.
Russia's allied Africa Corps was forced to retreat, abandoning key towns including Kidal and Tessalit. Some members of the junta even accused the Russians of betrayal.
For the second day in a row, everyone has been laughing at this video.
Yesterday, Putin, dressed in military uniform, allegedly made a rare visit to the front line, to one of the auxiliary command posts. In reality, it was a film set inside a bunker. As we can see, they have a lot of props in that bunker:
😅 A camouflage net was hung inside the building.
😅 The flooring, lighting, and acoustics all look like those of a studio.
I wonder how many times they rehearsed it?
Gender differences in empathy are not fixed biological truths. They emerge from social expectations, learned patterns, and stereotype pressure. https://t.co/JXwl0vWbcv
Tragic but stretching is still worth it. For psychological reasons and for the dekeratinization that comes from full coverage.
Once that happens the remaining corpuscles underneath the callous are resurfaced & sensitivity increases.
Fun fact:
Larry Hoekstra is from Groningen, Netherlands.
During World War 2, Groningen was occupied by the Nazis until it was liberated by the Canadian Forces in April 1945.
He was born in 1953.
He literally owes his life to Canadians.
