After thirteen years of failure, the Conservative Government handed control of NHS dentistry to local "Integrated Care Partnerships".
Less than six months later, Lostwithiel is the first NHS dentist to sign an innovative new contract.

Boris Johnson claims a "kangaroo court" has "forced" him out of Parliament.
In fact the committee only makes a recommendation.
650 MPs can only suspend him for a few days.
Only the voters in his constituency can "force" him out.
But apparently he doesn't want to ask them...
@adamfleming Why has a pothole in Cornwall made national news, and why haven't you covered it yet?!
It's been in The Times, Mirror, Mail & Independent and I've appeared live on BBC Radio and Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 show!
Even JRM is talking about it!

Correction: The state can't do its job properly due to short-sighted funding cuts, so the populist politician seeks to create a false division between "the good people" and "the bureaucratic elite". In fact they both want to see the back of a failing Conservative Government.
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret What does the news of a pothole in Cornwall say about how liberalism can stand up to populism, and why haven't you covered it yet?!

@K_Imrama@WRN_Manchester@LibDems@cnorthwood@libdem Liberals see people as individuals, not groups, and seek to find the grain of truth in every point of view. It can be hard to do that with those who aren't interested in genuine dialogue.
But nothing ever justifies dehumanising language.
Liberals don't call people lice.

@bbclaurak Voter fraud just got easier! The new #VoterID law allows "emergency proxy" for "LOST ID" but nobody verifies whether the application is from an elector who wants a proxy, or from someone who wants to cast a fraudulent vote in the name of a non-voter! #Elections2023
@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK If a council receives an application for an "emergency proxy" because of "lost ID", how do they know whether it's from an elector who genuinely wants a proxy, or from someone who wants to cast a fraudulent vote in the name of a non-voter? #loophole?
Voter fraud just got easier! If someone says they're not going to vote, you can apply for an "emergency proxy vote" to cast on their behalf. Previously an employer or doctor had to verify the emergency. But the new #VoterID law allows you to self-certify the emergency of LOST ID!
One Cornish Conservative MP stands up to boast that after thirteen years in power, they are now *MEASURING* most of the sewage being dumped in our rivers and seas. Wow. Then all six of them voted against doing anything to stop it! #SewageScandal
@CornwallCouncil has blocked Councillors from using WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter on the WiFi at New County Hall without warning on the day of a Full Council meeting! 🤐
I have no opinion whatsoever on Dr Virr's performance as an NHS employee. My criticism of Cllr Virr relates entirely to his performance as a Cabinet Member.
@itvnews@itvwestcountry The first line of this story says nurses in Cornwall ARE striking, even though the headline correctly says they are NOT... https://t.co/Pr1jfyeEGu
A coal mine which claims to be "net zero" by ignoring the emissions from coal is as crazy as @CornwallCouncil's claim to make the airport it owns "net zero" by ignoring the emissions from aeroplanes 🤦🏻♂️
#cumbriacoalmine#ClimateEmergency
So, the government approves a new coal mine in Cumbria. A ridiculous and dreadful decision. Climate change is our biggest earthly threat, yet the Tories want to dig up and burn more fossil fuels. What a pathetic failure of leadership.
@PostOffice your website is incorrect! Lostwithiel Post Office is open Mon 12-3 AND Thu 9:30-12:30.

@TheNewsAgents@maitlis@GlobalPlayer@jonsopel Types of protest (3/3):
If the perpetrator has no shame & massive profits, 1 & 2 won't work.
In theory, if enough disruption is caused, the country will grind to a halt and the Govt will capitulate. In reality this would take something vastly more disruptive than soup or glue
@TheNewsAgents@maitlis@GlobalPlayer@jonsopel Types of protest (2/3):
Disrupt a company: Focus action on the company (not a random painting), but this only works if the scale of disruption makes the business unprofitable.
@TheNewsAgents@maitlis@GlobalPlayer@jonsopel Types of protest (1/3):
Raise awareness: Do something original, wacky or shocking, but it only creates change if the "target" is *embarrassed* by the truth becoming known.
The most shocking thing about the sewage being pumped onto our beaches is that it's LEGAL!
Only six people in Cornwall have the power to stop this @DerekThomasUK @thisischerilyn@stevedouble@scottmann4NC@SheryllMurray (Ex environment secretary George Eustace has quit Twitter)
‘90% rain’ yeah…”SWW sewage discharge this morning at StAgnes. Unbelievable. A dad just got out this arvo and said to his 3 year old ‘Best wash the sewage off…’ It is still stinking. No way am I surfing in that.
