Announcing the fourth and fifth — and final — Purdue 1 crew members! 🚀
Veteran commercial astronaut @Astro_Beth, a @PurdueAeroAstro alumna, and Florence Stahura, a graduate of @PurdueScience, will join the five-person, all-Boilermaker suborbital flight that will include real-time research onboard a @virgingalactic spacecraft.
Professor @CollicottSteven, graduate student Abigail Mizzi and @PurdueCCE alumnus Jason Williamson round out the Purdue 1 crew, which came together for the first time during an event today at Armstrong Hall.

Virgin Galactic is at the University of Central Florida (@UCF) for The Economist Space Economy Summit to meet with industry leaders from around the globe. See you there! #EconSpace
@PurdueAeroAstro We had a great flight to space and back! Many thanks to NASA Flight Opportunities Program and the hard-working crew at Virgin Galactic!
Today’s #NS24 mission stats:
🚀 Crew capsule apogee: 347,601 ft. AGL / 351,248 ft. MSL (106 km AGL / 107 km MSL).
🚀 Booster apogee: 347,208 ft. AGL / 350,855 ft. MSL (106 km AGL / 107 km MSL).
Steven Collicott, @PurdueAeroAstro professor, has an experiment on board built by the AAE418 “Zero-gravity Flight Experiment” class. The “2D-Slosh” experiment ran for several years in AAE418, and several dozens of students who are now #alumni worked on it, Collicott said.
The 'Galactic 05' flight window opens on Thursday, November 2, 2023. This research mission will be the 6th spaceflight in 6 months. Details → https://t.co/Si3Qbv9vo9 #Galactic05
“I never would have imagined I’d get to speak to one of my biggest role models.”
