After a SpaceX IPO, investors don’t “get out” all at once.

There’s a structured cash-out timeline that controls when liquidity actually hits the market:

• Day 0–180: Most shares locked (no selling)
• ~Month 2 (post-Q2 earnings): First ~20% unlock
• If price rallies: another ~10% may unlock
• Months 3–5: Staggered ~7% releases every few weeks
• Around month 6: Majority of shares become tradable
• End of year: final unlock completes the cycle

@garyblack00 I don't buy the narrative the fed will increase rates at all. If they do, then you can kiss the housing market goodbye, the retail market, and the bankruptcies will start little by little. Not sure how the job market is up when there are so many layoffs.

@zazaxbt_ That's not true about tax rates for ST and LT in CA as the FTB doesn't care how long you hold it as the rate is the same. He would be hit at 37% federal, 3.8% NIIT 12.3 CA, and 1% CA mental ,health services tax for income over $1M. Fed is 20% LT rate if in the 37% bracket.
